just wondering if a guy wanted to come down to Cali either northern or southern.....what town or city could you stay in , that would be close to a crap load of tracks?
Possibly 3 , 4 , 5 or more outdoor tracks? And does any track down there have any open SX type practice tracks as well?

Tulare,Porterville,Hanford have practice. Little Okie is for racing only.
Best bet would to head North or South for sure.
Corona is the center of the MX universe for sure....if it was me though I would live further north up in Hesperia to live in the high desert (very peaceful) then head south to ride Competitive Edge and Racetown 395 (less than a half hour) and Glen Helen (less than 45 minutes) and Perris (about ninety minutes)
If you want to live closer to the ocean the South Bay (Manhattan, Hermosa, Redondo) is a very nice place to live and you're very close to LAX. Downside it is is more expensive and all the tracks would be two hours away......Gorman and Piru would be 90 minutes.
10 min to Pala
30 min to Barona, Perris, Cahuilla, Elsinore, Starwest,
45 min to GH, Milestone,
60 min to Comp Edge, AMP, Racetown

I hadn't had my morning Red Bull when I made my post about living in Hesperia.
Now that Pala has opened it would have me living in Temecula, Murietta, Lake Elsinore area
Murrieta in "south" SoCal
Pala - 20 mintues
Barona - 60 mins
Perris - 20 mins
StarWest - 20 mins
Cauhilla - 30 mins
GH - 50 mins
Milestone - 40 mins

Rancho Cucamonga if you like the "north" SoCal tracks better.
GH - 15 mins
Milestone - 15 mins
StarWest - 35 mins
Perris - 35 mins
Comp Edge - 40 mins

Those times can be deceiving with traffic issues here in So.Cal. DONOT DRIVE DURING RUSH HOUR!
GH, Milestone, Starwest, Perries,CompPark, are a hell of a drive from the Los Angeles area.
Nah... i drive on the shoulder or put a baby doll in the car seat in the back.. flip open the movie screen and drive all day in the HOV lane!!!
Now some might call this traffic... this is 5 or the 15 freeway at 3am by the way!!!
Going to Starwest from the 60fwy near UCR is unbearable.
One pro rider said he moved to FL because he can spend more time practicing rather than sitting in traffic.

Hangtown- 20-30 depending on where in Sac. city or county.
Dixon- like 40 minutes.
Sand Hill- 60- 1hr 15 min
Sac Raceway- 20+ min
Club Moto- think around what Carnegie(Livermore) is.
Livermore- 1hr half-2 hrs
Hollister- like a good 2 1/2 at least
Chico(don't even know if still open)- 1hr and change.
Honey Lake close to 5 hrs northeast.
Fernley- 2 1/2 to 3 hrs.
Turlock Oatfield- 2 1/2-3 hrs
Stead I think around time to Fernley
Oasis.....been so long seemed like 4 hours.
Los Banos, Tulare, Chowchilla like 4 hours.
Ukiah Speedway- like 5 hours more or less
LaGrange like 1 1/2 to 2.
Mammoth Bar is like an 1 hr..
Haven't been to any except E/Riverfront/Hangtown since I got sick so times might be a bit off.
BTW, the Compton jokes can stop now...........it is getting old.

If you own your own business or don't need to work then the high desert Hesperia, Oak Hills, Victorville is pretty tough to beat. Way cleaner air, cooler than the inland empire and you really are basically 30 mins from the best tracks in SoCal.

I started this thread because i am wanting to possibly get a new bike , start doing some riding again , and then next spring maybe start doing to racing again. When i asked the original question in the thread title and first post.....your first reply was just the word "compton"......wtf? Explanation please? Does Compton have numerous tracks all around to go practice at?
If there is....then yeah , i'd like to come down and do some riding.....maybe even with you! I'm not like some of these other guys on here that might feel intimidated by you....not in the fucking least! And i do live close enough to you , that maybe one day we can meet up , and you can tell me how much of a racist i am to my face. Then after we get things settled , then maybe we can go do some fucking riding together.
And no , i'm not ignorant , blind , or a stereo typer ....and i'm not a friggin' racist you prick! Go back and look at your thread you started about the old guy and his two kids that called you "sambo".....i supported you on saying it was wrong for what the guy said and what i would have done if i was in your shoes. I have ALWAYS been a guy who tells it like it is , and i don't need to hide behind some stupid user name on a message board. There are ton of guys in this sport up here in the NW that know me , and know that what i say is something i mean. I don't take shit from anyone and i don't give it to people either. So if someone is man enough to stand in front of me and start throwing names around......all i can say is , it'll be a bad day on their part , not mine!

Bobby M.....i was trying to get info on where all the tracks could be centrally located. For when i do get a bike again , i plan on practicing , getting back into race shape and doing some racing. I grew up on a farm when i was little riding trails.....i'm not riding trails any more. pretty much just tracks only.
