I just came on here to see if anyone got or gave any cool moto gifts. Maybe SX tix, bike or gear. My parents gave me a gift certificate for my favorite dealership. Anyway saw that shit show and it led me to this thread. Merry Christmas.

But...To me it sounds like Ping got misquoted, and took offense to it. Some of his blasts in the other thread? I don’t really condone them, but I also sort of get it.

Look, I’ve been playing admin on the forums for probably close to 20 years, all told. I’ll be the first to admit I don’t have the patience that I used to have with some users. That particularly goes for repeat offenders. I’ve caught some heat lately for blasting people in here and on our social media channels. I’m all for social media, but not nearly as crazy about anti-social media. Let’s be honest. A certain percentage of people in any social media platform (and that includes this one) like trolling, creating conflict, or are just generally disagreeable. Do some actually need to be put on blast? Sure.

In here, I’m more familiar with the faces and personalities of our users than I am on IG, FB, Twitter, etc. A lot of them I like. Some not so much. That aligns with the real world. But while I think of readers as the real customers here, when you jump into the forum you’re also a participant. How you conduct yourself matters. I’m ever-hopeful in looking for posts that bring value. I also point out some of the stuff that doesn’t as an example of how not to do it.

From the previous locked threads - I don’t think eliminating WADA testing is a talking point. It’s not in the ballpark of what is acceptable and created the backlash.
You don’t have to have a better solution to call out an unacceptable solution.

I will just point out that, while I thought Ping's response was somewhat disproportionate (but not that big of a deal), one of the reasons he left Racer X (at least my interpretation of his comments about it) was to gain more editorial freedom over what he can and cannot say. Both good and bad....

I personally would rather get someone's real opinion, regardless of whether I agree with it or not, than a politically-correct response to everything.

I generally like Ping's POV on things, and a couple of comments aren't going to change that...

I’ll disagree. In Christian’s case, he had the support to be able to fight it, but they also wouldn’t have found in his favor if he didn’t have a case. But his issue was never about the result of the test. It was about the process and delay in reporting the results.

Anyone else remember reading about a high profile mini racer using HGH in the early 80s to try to get taller? Not sure what effect the treatments had, but he ended up with a World Championship!
