Weekends at the cottage, mornings are lazy. That's when I will use the press & up it to 1-2 cups after breakfast. Living on the edge or what? Smile

(And always black - straight up all the way).

You have coffee AFTER breakfast and lunch? I know many people that have coffee after meals and man I don't get it. Just 2 days ago, for the first time in my life, I had coffee after breakfast. I had a really nice omelette at Hofs Hut and then downed what was left of my coffee. All it did was ruin the taste of the omelette. It's like eating a nice piece of candy and immediately taking a bite out of an onion. Does the coffee taste better than anything you had for breakfast?
Not criticizing you here ns503. If anything I'm the outlier.
Cake and coffee?
Pie and coffee?
Why not a peanut butter and banana sandwich......and coffee? Who would have anything other than milk with that or chocolate chip cookies?

It's like punishment for eating something really good.
I drink it first thing in the morning because it barely tastes better than the mouthful of shit I woke up with.
Thanks for allowing me to rant. I haven't had my coffee yet this morning.
Rant was too funny! So you don’t drink coffee with the breakfast meal? I feel like most people at a restaurant drink it before, during and after breakfast. At least that’s what I see anytime I hit up a breakfast joint.

I’ll drink a few cups a day in the fall/winter. I’m not a big coffee drinker in summer. We use a drip coffee maker. Sometimes a French press. Sometimes we will get the Espresso Maker out and use that.

I like my coffee dark, hot and loaded with flavored creamers. Currently I’m sipping on Hawaiian Grog flavor coffee from Kroger. I think it’s $9-$12 a pound. Has some hints of coconut in it. I also like pecan maple nut coffee flavor.

We get whole beans only and grind when we make each pot.

Hot and dark.

What is the name of your coffee, maybe " Your morning Crutch"?

I was the same way until my kids got me a Keurig for Christmas a few years ago and I had to at least give it a try so I didn’t appear ungrateful.

I’m a fan of them now for the weekday coffee routine, but on weekends I do sometimes use my drip machine with some more robust coffee.

I mostly buy whatever store brand French Roasts in K-cups. 10oz a cup is a pretty decent cup of coffee.

I grew up in a household with a stovetop percolator and a few times a year I bust mine out for old times sake.

As a coffee farmer. I don't believe there is a right or wrong way.
I personally like a medium. Tastes sweeter and is less oily.
We do our own roast on the farm and always put a lower grade of coffee into the dark. Some say it adds more body. I think it's bitter. But still enjoyable with milk and sugar.

Not super fussy but I will say the two best coffees I've had were single origin. One was a Kona from Hawaii and the other was Ethiopian.

Ha a big scoop of whipped cream. Honestly I am not a huge coffee drinker but I have been watching my boys in Hawaii Vlogs Koa Rothman and Koa smith and they opened the Sunrise Shack cafe on the north shore and people rave about the coffee, 2 locations in Hawaii and 1 in Japan and 1 in California I think. I wanted to try out their goods and its closer to hot chocolate which is fine by me. I just ordered the large bag.

Ok I ordered an expresso machine and should be here today. I am not a huge coffee drinker but I want energy. I bought Illy ground expresso to try after a recommendation. What's a great mild tasting expresso?

I've been hitting Cumberland Farms every morning for the last 20 yrs. Large farmhouse blend, a little ice on the bottom followed by 5 french vanilla creamers. 99 cents plus tax. Only one a day. Does it for me. Tried K cup but didnt stick with it.
