Frieze is hungry; and it shows. I have never been a fan; but hearing him speak, I am coming around.

He's made some mistakes; but who among us wouldn't make some classic errors really putting your heart and soul into trying to win? I would smash some of the wrong people in wrong situations, I'm sure of it.

He keeps trying hard, and he was impressive.

Count me in on the "Freize Train".

7 Years and no championship? Has any one spent this much time in the big boy class and won a championship?

Will he ever be ready?

MM is on a totally different level than JB.
Barcia will not be a factor in SX or the Nationals. That ship has sailed. All we ever hear is excuses.

And yes, he won a mudder sx last year. How did he do in the rest of the races?

MM25 has how many big bike titles? Right, same amount as Justin, KW14, TF15 and the rest of the riders I listed..

I guess I worded that wrong, has any one spent that much time in the big boy class and then won a championship after 7 + years?

I understood your question, and no, nobody has. I think the benchmark is 3 years, which Roczen and Tomac have already passed. Anyone who has won a SX title has done so within 3 years in the big bike class.

Its not if you win one, its how far off you are from winning one.. MM25 is always there and has taken the title to the last round twice ( i think) .. he is in the hunt. And he also has the same amount of big bike titles as me. Likelihood of MM25 winning this year.. 1 in 3 ... likelihood of Barcia winning. None. Especially with his inability to set a bike up.

Barcia peaked a long time ago...he aint going to get faster. Its just a job now and he will keep cashing cheques until a younger guy replaces him.

My response wasn't about who has a better "chance" to win one. I simply stated a fact. JB51 and MM25 have exactly the same amount of big bike titles and Marvin is 2yrs older. If you all want to argue FACTS, carry on. After all it is VitalMX at its best

What 450 titles does Barcia have?

Edit - I just checked, neither Barcia or Marv have any in the 450 class.

I wouldent be shocked if he gets a win this season but I think a championship is out of reach

It's been said before, and it's just an opinion... But it's also my opinion, Barcia and that Yamaha aren't a match made in heaven. That bike seems to have a very small setup window and I feel like it doesn't respond well when ridden with a Barcia style which is quite opposite of say Febvre or even Tonus. Aggressive riders struggle, smooth riders excel.

JMHO.

Agree. Seems to make sense when you have heard over the years with that bike that the more power the harder it is to setup too... sounds like you need to go the other way and he doesn't ever ride calm compared to people like Ken or Marvin etc.

I am pretty sure the Yamaha is not the only factory bike he has ridden.

He left Honda after not delivering, went to JGR , did the same , and is sat Yamaha because Millsaps got hurt and Webb left. Been the same story at all of them...

Except that his string of single digit finishes and podiums and even wins on the Honda is vastly better than on the Yamaha...

Just check the 2013 season.

For what it's worth, a close friend of mine is a HUGE Barcia fan, so I went Tomac back in the early days just so we could have a little rivalry... Just my observation, and when speaking opinion, there will always be opposing views.

Yes You're right if you call 2 lites sx titles, multiple top 3 outdoor 250 series finishes, 2 450 SX wins and multiple outdoor wins/podiums and top 5 O/A’s not performing.

Who cares?! Who expects Barcia to win a championship? I sure as hell don't. Barcia is what he is and has been for awhile. An amazing rider who still manages to snag a win here and there. There's only one winner and just because someone doesn't win doesn't mean there's something wrong with them or their bike!!!

Barcia is still considered a threat when it comes to individual race wins, that’s why he is still on factory equipment.

250 stuff indoors is half the riders at half the races.. and when he went 450 he came in with a bang and worked himself backwards, like he has since with other rides. If he had been performing at Honda do you think they would have let him go... it seems like a pattern to me.. and at Honda he wasnt the main man, he had someone to crib off.

He can ride, but its not enough . With a factory ride comes factory responsibilities, and he isnt team leader material.. to be fair .neither was RC , but it didnt mattet cos he could win on whatever was put under him.

The chatter about GP rides was just that, i recall Suzuki trying to use it to attract sponsors and they failed and went with Jasikonis.

Its a dilemma, cos on his day he can be fast, but that day might be a wednesday. Over a season i dont see him being a regulat top 5 guy.

Stop putting so much weight in the MEC results. Guess who Friese SPANKED at last years MEC? Cooper Webb. Yep, the same Cooper Webb that went on to win the SX championship the following year.
