I'm not gonna go into detail about the physics and all of that for this game, I will comment on the track layouts in this compared to before.

The tracks being wide are probably the best thing they could of done in this game when it comes to the tracks. MES2 was great but man, some tracks in that game are way too skinny and if you try to get in a battle with someone, one of you are going off the track or crashing from a tough block. I'm glad they made it wider so it allows for a bit more room for battles and be able to rip the bike around without it bolting into a tough block.

Other than that I cant say much about gameplay till I actually play it, because all the gameplay videos are from people who looks like they never touched a racing game before. Just hoping they got rid of the bs collisions and made the AI a bit better. Other than that looks like it'll be a fun game.

It was definitely good, but i feel like Ralph and Jeff last year was more entertaining, except for the fact that we couldnt film game footage last year. Maybe i'm biased because i was the guy behind the camera haha.

Finally a good rider. I have to say, it looks pretty damn solid! Whips are still weak, but I'm glad to see it looks like they worked on the physics when it comes to losing momentum randomly and trying to be smooth. You could nail the exact same line in MES2 and sometimes your bike will take off and sometimes it'll lose a lot of momentum for no reason really, the physics weren't very consistent. I'm glad to see they're getting closer to making a really solid game that we've been wanting for years.

I’d have rather thrown my money into the wind and watch it fly away than I would buy MES 2. At least then I wouldn’t have wasted my time. It was awful in every way.

MES 2 graphically is the only thing they got right. The turning lag, slow whip, pretty much everything else blows

They are trying, with a complete physics do over. Milestone knows what everyone wants, free whips and ruts. It has to be an issue with real engine making it difficult for them. That’s the only thing I can see. Still a good bit of time left to make improvements.

The last race I ever did was a 450 race in career mode. I busted out a quad in a rhythm section. Maybe at Houston I’m not sure. And the AI computer player next to me went through the entire rhythm section casing every single jump. Basically treated them like whoops. And he passed me. Shut it off right then and haven’t played since. I could write an essay on all the flaws but that was the final straw for me and that’s when I was done for good.

Give me the option to ride a 2 stroke and I'll be just fine with any common complaints from the first 2 games.

One pet peeve I had in MES1 (didn't buy 2) was a situation where you are behind another player, both going straight down the track, and you could take your front wheel and push out the rear wheel of someone in front of you. Just like how you would do this in a car game if you wanted to spin someone in front of you out. The ai would do this in MES1 a lot but online dirty players did this too. Zero consequence or consideration for open wheel contact. Aside from the dumb ai learning to break better, has there been any improvements to these games for this in MES2 or MXGP19?

Don't worry, MES 2 had in air speed boosts. You could be passing someone just before a jump, take off the lip 10 feet ahead of them, and they hit the air boosters shortly after takeoff and fly right by you in the air.

So that's a no to my question? lol. I don't know, but I can certainly see if someone nails a rhythm and scrubs a triple they could make up time compared to someone who didn't do those things.

Is the first person view screwed up in this game? I actually held off buying this one , because of the videos I saw , basically sucked in FPV. You couldn't even see the front fender in game. Did they fix this , or is it still screwed? And what do you guy's think overall , compared to MES 2 ?

Unrelated:

If you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, one of the free games for December is Monster Energy Supercross.

Just thought I'd let you guys know in case you never played it or you bought it and sold/traded it in.

Can we just get updated teams/riders? It’s really not that difficult. Hell I’ll even pay for it as a DLC.

Skipped MES2 but this has me excited enough to consider a preorder at least. Unfortunately, Milestone makes up new names for technology that looks pretty, but doesn't impact much gameplay in a fun way. If whips are free-ish AND they could get the damn ruts to actually work like their own MXGP3 game, this would be great.

There will never be a game that makes everyone happy. Just glad someone decided to pick up the ball and run with it.
Looking forward to MES3
