You could replace J-Bone with Brooks and the results might improve marginally, but within 18 months Brooks would be fighting with the whole organization from Coach on down, and he'd be out of there. He's good at short term success and pissing people off.

I’ve never understood it. Ever since Joe & Coy Gibbs started JGR...there was mega hype around them having a bottomless money bag, their ability to build whatever they needed because of their shop & that all their race car tech experience would bleed over into their SX/MX endeavor. But...to this day, they really have never done squat. I don’t blame JBone. His name is not on the bank account. His name is not Gibbs. You have to buy talent these days...and have a bike that’s capable of winning. For some reason, that combo has never materialized for JGR. Much as I hate to say it...if it were me, I’d either bet the farm and go all in for a winning rider & lease some factory bikes...or pull the plug and go home!

If Jason Garrett can keep a job, everything J-Bone has done is easily worth another 5-10 year contract (if the team lasts that long)...

How is J Bone responsible for the riders that JGR hires ? It's not like he is scouting the players as they come up through the ranks. Never have looked as a team manager as more then a logistics manager for his riders.

Jbone has said before they are done going after the big money title contenders. You don’t get the ROI. So they won’t be doing that.

Also, who would they have hired this year even if they had 10 million to throw at someone?
