But man to fly over the Atlantic and completely tear down an event that everyone enjoys ( including some Americans).
Serious question did you come over the MXoN because
A. You hate it but you make lots of money for being a negative journalist
B. You want to cheer on your country and enjoy the international flavour the event is unique for

I would rather be an idiot than xenophobic (I hope spelled that right)

That's awesome you had a good time. I'm not a "fan" like you, I don't care who wins or loses.

I go to the race to cover it properly, the good and the bad. Go back and read what I wrote about past MXDN's, I call it like I see it and this year, with lack of star power (one "main" team had their best team there), a poor track, bad weather, way less atmosphere than past MXDN's I've been to (12 in a row in case you're counting). Add it all up and you have an average event.

That's fine you loved it but it doesn't warrant you calling me a clown.

I think anyone who said “the USA is never going to win the MXON again” can be considered a clown yes
“Lack of star power” that’s just an insult to the riders that attended, I suppose the current MXGP and MX2 world champions don’t quite cut it for you but hey this idiot was happy with the quality on view.

'Anyone who bags on these guys , i am going to find them and burn there house down'

And then this weeks show... Osborne came on and Matthes after ranting earlier 'why was he 6th in qualifying' then asks Zach the same question look dude, practice is just that, gate pick is from a ballot, no point wadding in a ball to be top of a session that means fuck all.

Thank god JT$ had a proper take on it and sees it for what it is , its a day where anything can happen and it normally does.

And why the fuck should the GP season change to fit in with the NFL calendar . Dumb as.

Your guys came and put some pride back into the job, and deserve nothing but praise for stepping in when grizzler decided it wasnt for him.

And as for 'never winning again' ,what a load of horseshit.

Why? We must rage! Rage and Vitards are like peas and carrots. RAGE!!

Seriously though, good post. "walk with your cat." Hahaha! If that doesn't calm you down - nothing will!

Why is it that the people that chirp the loudest are always the ones that either take things out of context, choose what they want to hear or lack reading comprehension?

All Steve said was that the riders are better than what their results showed. That’s not bashing on them at all.

Texas has been such a large school for so long. Just because Alabama has had a winning steak under Saban, doens't mean their market is big enough to out earn one of the biggest schools in the biggest state in America.

The biggest hypocrisy is telling fans to not give riders a hard time about their fantasy score/race result, all the while spending a fair portion of the weekly fantasy podcast trashing riders and joking about how people on the call like JT/Dan/Paul etc would be fired if their group texts over fantasy ever became public.

Glaring hypocrisy at it's finest... "don't do this, but please continue to tune in each week while I continue to do so"

I don't think that is Mathes' issue. They run a fantasy SX/MX and talk up the riders and make picks. Its not his fault that a total douchebag standing in an autograph line or passes a rider in the pits and tells him that he ruined his FANTASY game.

That said, Mathes is way too sensitive and tends to fight many battles that aren't necessary. Lighten up, Mathes.

I don't think what Matthes meant when he said lack of star power was in regards to who was there, just simply put that there were a lot of riders missing due to injury. One of the main ones being Cairoli, Febvre, and so on. IMO the team we sent was more committed and worked harder than another that the USA could have selected. Are Tomac and Cianciarulo bigger stars than Osborne and Anderson? Yeah just a wee bit, but our boys are stars no effin matter what !!! Back in the day, we call those guys the "Euros", bunch of stand up straight, sittin down, elbows down, seat bouncing sons a bitches, not anymore man. We have been called out, and hell that's fine too but just like AC(the USA one) said, "it's time to be a big boy and pull the ole boot straps up and get to work"! Or something like that.

Points he made

Assen is shit

Because we are not winning then the problem is with the event and not us

They conspire against us with their dates and schedules

Herlings was crap

We shouldn’t go

And what’s with all this we and us sh.i
Your from Canada dude

JT get your own show so we don’t have to listen to him again

If I see him at MXON next year I’m gonna ask him if he’s lost

What a whinge and detractor of the best motocross event of the year regardless of the sh.t wheather

First off Tomac and Cinci are not bigger names than any of the 3 who represented the USA.
Second the location was a joke of a place to hold it. I have been lucky enough to attend the 2016 race in Italy and the atmosphere with the crowds was over the top. We almost won if not for another rider landing on Anderson.
Conditions like rain we can’t control and that’s the same for everyone. If you have never been to a MXoN in Europe please go and feel it. It’s not like anything here in the US and that’s a shame for what these guys are doing to represent.
I very seldom if not at all agree with Matthes but he’s right on some of the things he said to me from attending one in Europe. Red Buds crowd was tame compared to Europe. Just my opinion

Matthes has done nothing but berate the MXON since Kawasaki put a dictatorship type ban on it’s riders. Then he attends the event comes home and starts criticising it again. Makes me wonder what his motives are considering his position in the media and why he’s trying to devalue it when so many Americans consider it the most prestigious race of the year. I listened to pulpmx today to hear Zach talk about the team and the race but his constant sniping made me switch off.
He’s trying to build a void and feed on the us and them mentality that this years team helped to subside a bit.
What’s in all this for him I don’t know maybe he just doesn’t like Euros.

Sept. 21 was the closing date for the festival / outdoor season ( over here ) not only in north-west Europe also in South Europe ( where it's now still mild ) Anyway, 3 mud des Nations in a row!!! The Financial risks are way to high for a des Nations ( ourdoors events) in the fall... move it back to the first weekend of Sept problem solved Americans happy as well... or go back to the old format attendance 10.000 + fried fries + frikandel + € 15,- entrance fee.

Oh do the math... 20.000 x € 35 = € 700.000 minus the cost... well better start a dance Festival way more profitable.

I got bored and read all four pages of this thread. At the end of the day, Screw the MXdN. It is a waste of money for the riders and the teams, and its irrelevant now. Like Matthes said, it's different now, the euros race MX all year but 90% of the MXGP field would leave Anaheim 1 on a stretcher if they tried to race. All the MXdN is, is a big FIM circle jerk.
