the physics react much different, don’t be silly. turning, jumping, the bikes response to bumps/ruts....it’s all different. most games are like this. it’s a completely different experience and the physics is what makes that experience. it’s not just what you see visually, it’s what you feel. and what you feel....is the physics.

No, most games are not like that. It can feel different because it looks different, but it is in fact the same game.

lol of course it’s the same game. call it what you want. the bottom line is, the way the game plays, the feel, the rider actions and bike reactions are completely different in FPV. everything about it feels different. i understand the difference between it looking different and feeling different. we all know it obviously looks different, but it also feels different and that’s due to the...dare i say it...physics. calling the difference in feeling the physics or not....it’s a completely different experience and that’s my point. but again, everything you feel is a result of.....the physics!!!

when rainbow sends a patch out and you turn your game on and the gameplay feels different....you hop online and tell everyone “they changed the physics!!!” but the change in gameplay between views, the obvious major differences in bike/rider feel isn’t physics related. it’s ONLY the view. gotcha

i’m only going to say this one more time. again, the game feels like a completely different game between the two views. i don’t care about the technicalities, i’m talking about what i feel and what i experience. the same thing that numerous people on here and on youtube have said. the game is better in FPV because the physics feel different. i don’t care about the reasons, it is what it is. that’s been my only statement. if i feel something different in comparison to something else, i call it the physics. perception is reality!

Let me take a stab at it:

#1- I am bored with the current physics, but simply due to the old saying "for every smoking hot broad, there is a dude tired of f#@%ing her". I am ready for their next title

#2- IF you tune to jump to the moon, max preload frequently, and hall mach 5 constantly, you will boom to the moon

#3- The "moon" physics has a lot to do with track design and steepness/magnitude/scaling of jumps. The more "realistically" scaled/pitched tracks and jumps feel good (Unadilla, Oakland), while others like Ironman, Budds Creek, Big Horn, Crescent lakes, East Rutherford have re-re booters and some overscale.

Still a solid game, I just knew the high was not going to last forever. Amazing it lasted well over a year.

as i was reading #3 i thought about Unadilla and then you listed it. that track was done so good. there’s a difference tho between a track jump being oversized and a jump that just needs to be braked up to like henry hill at budds creek for example. in real life if you pin it off of it you’re going to land in the corner like doug henry did. in the game, if you pin it off of it you’ll land in the corner, but that’s because of overspeed not cause the jump was made incorrectly. but i know what you mean

i’m ready for the next game too. i want the bike to feel grounded more, in the dirt...and i want the power delivery to really be able to be felt. like in recent car racing games. when you pull that trigger you feel the car. you can feel going through the gears. i want that for motocross games. i know it’s hard due to wheelspin and load but it can be done. i wonder what what they’re working on looks like right now.

I agree on all accounts.

I think the best tracks in the game are Unadilla, Washougal, and the Goat Farm. The scaling and general feel in FPV are the best MX game experience I've had to date, and I've played pretty much every console MX game since Jeremy Mcgrath Supercross '98

This looks like a good time to jump in:

Let's clear up what I think Holt was sayin. The physics of the game obviously do not change when you change perspectives, BUT how we perceive physics has as much to do with the math and logic running the engine as the viewpoint we have when watching those physics play out. When you can see the rider and the rear of the bike moving around, it has a powerful effect on how your brain interprets "physics".

So if you don't physically see her bouncin around, your brain tells you that she aint bouncin around.

Cheers y'all

Finally got a sub 2:00 on the goat farm. This game is such a love/hate thing for me. Ripping hot laps is awesome, but I have terrible luck i online lobbies as far as stability goes. I got in a room with a bunch of fast guys the other night and got booted to the lobby after one and a half races. So disappointing. I have rock solid internet as well, and no issues like this in other games. Sad

Hoping you guys can help a bro out! I've downloaded all the AMA nationals tracks but basically I'm just about getting on the podium even on medium difficulty! I'm either blowing out on the ruts and getting bounced off a line in any of the ruts, I've tried messing about with tunes but nothing seems to work on that AMA tracks. Any pointers?

Gonna sound like broken record, but
- off the gas until you are 100% sure you have a clean path
- slow down your entry speed, fast out

Been awhile since the rumor mill or hype train struck around here. But apparently a deleted post mentioned a revelation is coming soon. Which defines as “a surprising or previously unknown fact”. So either a ground-breaking update or previously undisclosed DLC.

I only play from time to time now, but unless I am tripping, they have been using our data to make minor adjustments via micro updates. Especially for those of us who play “realistically”. Whips, on ground, control of handle bars, etc. Could be all my time off leading me to form new habits upon returning to the game. Anyone else?

Will Racer111 finally shut up about this series not having a good series mode?

After doing a few races the improvements they’ve done with the ai are noticeable. They seem to be staying on track better and seem to be taking better lines.

If these guys are still taking suggestions, I miss the old vibration strength, and do not want to "just turn it off". Also, I learned if you do split-screen/Arcade, you can pick the number of AIs and run it solo, no second controller needed/single screen -- nice little hack.

On the immersion side of things, an echoing ai exhaust sound as in MCM 1 or 2. Hearing someone rip past you 199%

Can we just take the exhaust sounds from MCM2 completely? A game made 20 years ago still has some of the best sounds Ive heard in a moto game.

Edit: Im tired of hearing that song used in their video clips too.

Has anyone else noticed the steering feels off on PS4 after the update? I seem to be over steering every corner and it just feels like the bike/rider move slower side to side.

Thats the way the game was very early on, it forces you to slow down and groove with the turn. Roll on throttle on the exit

no!! why would we ask and want sounds from an old old moto game? we’re asking for NEW, updated, accurate sounds. we’re not to stoop to the lows of settling for crappy sounds and then ask on forums for sounds from a 20 year old game. that’s rediculous

You’ve never heard the bikes from MCM2 have you.
