Nice.

Florida is earlier and there's a week off after.

Washougal still forcing an extra few thousand miles of travel.

Budds still alive.

But there's also an extra week between Washougal and Unadilla.

I had never quite figured out why glen helen was off of the schedule for 2019 and 2020, a buddy told me the owners were having some sort of disagreement? Is there any truth to that? Anybody know for sure?

I generally do the first nine (Hangtown through Washougal), then drive home and fly to the last three.

Just to take your number and run with it:

Avg miles per week- 884 miles
Gallons of fuel at 15mpg- 944 gallons
Cost for fuel at 3.39 a gallon- $3200.16
Cost for fuel at national average- $2360

I know these guys are logging far more miles than your initial estimate as they are typically heading back to home base in between rounds so the numbers portrayed are kind of a best case scenario.

i'm a nerd and i wanted to see it visually mapped:

link to the gmap:
https://goo.gl/maps/Au4BkgWPmedsEgcZA

(doesn't include mileage from home->hangtown or ironman->home)

outside of WA, it's a very reasonably sequential travel layout

Of course rider appreciation day. And it’s not at Glensdyland because of financial issues that can’t be resolved by either side. See you all at rider appreciation

Jacksonville/Mount Morris/Southwick is better than last year, where it was Mount Morris/Jacksonville/Southwick.

I’ll make my usual 3. I wish I had the dough to make every one of them . I love the outdoors.

Would it Be possible to swap Florida and Washougals slots , that seems like it would knock a few thousand miles of driving off ?

And if you Also swapped Pala to round one , and
Hangtown to round 2 , then put Washougal to round 3 ,
Then Colorado, that would make sense also imo

4 weeks off for a 12 race series but only 1 week off for a 17 round series ..whats wrong with that picture?

Good job changing the schedule a little DC, reduced some milage from last yr. This is a compliment not being sarcastic.

Anybody that has been to Florida in late July for an outdoor event would probably drive a couple thousand miles to avoid that again.

No chance you want an outdoor event in the middle of the day in Florida in July or August.

Ever been to FL around the first week in August? It's worse than in June.

There's no way those rigs are doing 15 to gallon

844 miles a week don't seem to bad, I have friends that drive more than that just to goto work.

I’m ball parking for the privateers in a van. The semis are probably looking at 6-8mpg.

It's too bad Washougal couldn't be the opener or in the first 3 rounds. It would really reduce the driving for the teams and especially the privateers.

Shit in 77 riding the 500 Nats we started from norcal to lake Whitney then to cycle world USA, St. Louis, then over to Unadilla, Charlotte NC. then to Road Atlanta and finally Sunshine Motor speedway. 6 races and Wtf knows how many miles. The path was at least more directional and no zigzaging. No semis, only dodge tradesmans and of course the plush, top of the line box van.

same boring schedule year in and year out. Hard for me to believe in the entire USofA there isn't anymore tracks that can hold a national besides the same 12.
