I've owned 6 RMZ 450s and they are a solid 6th place bike. For Suzuki to not change anything for 19 and 20 is a real kick in the guts. They have a lot of ground work to make up and might still land in 6th even if they make some decent changes.

In saying that, I love mine and its more of a built not bought bike, I have customised it to suit me and im happy with it for what it owes me all up.

Well I’m now living up in Davis so MMX is a lot closer than it used to be for me. We went about a month ago and had a ton of fun, it was cool being able to bounce back and forth between the main track and the sand track all day. Found some pretty fun rhythm combinations on the main track in the middle straightaway, there were quite a few options though that section.

If they throw the 250 rear shock on the 450 it would be a game changer.

Don’t believe they hype. Mine has he’s been known to rip a few fat holies. Slow and heavy seems to work for this 50+ racer. 😂😂😂 Is there really such a thing as a slow 450? 🤷‍♂️.
.
Plus the contingency program is awesome here in Texas.

Catching air on mine, not sure how I even made it up the face of the jump the things so slow and heavy, also not sure how I am not going over the bars because the shock is junk, I must have got lucky.

loved 2010s since they came out man, just for the record though the motor has been the same since 2008, which 2010 model do you own? Green, blue, red, orange, white or brown.

MotoMike!!! We're teammates right now. I usually ride a 2019 Kaw 450 but had an electrical issue so i've been riding my buddies 2019 Suzuki 450 and after the shootouts I had extremely low expectations. However the bike has been ultra impressive. It hits corners like no other. I weigh 148 pounds and I have the suspension almost as soft as it can go because it's stock and definitely stiff. Even with no suspension,I feel extremely comfortable on the bike and the confidence when leaning into turns, whether there is a rut or not, is awesome. I'm clocking similar lap times on the Suzuki as my Kaw, guaranteed. The power is not very good compared to the Kawi. However if you throw a pipe and get it remapped it's 4-5 horsepower and better bottom end pull. I'm a fairly decent A rider, for speed reference. RMArmy is reallll. The bike is sikk and people who are hating on it have no idea what there talking about IMO.
I am that buddy! lol we are getting an MX Tech Rear shock and gonna get the forks valved, this will be the best local handling 450 stamp it! So excited

Who cares, ride what you like.
This!
The shootouts only matter the the top 1% of the riders who actually might use most of that power. Us mortals ride what we like, what's in our price range, what brand has a shop near by, etc.
I don't even read the shootouts anymore. I read all the hop up info, in case I want to waste money on that stuff.

Just curious: does anyone buy a bike because of a shoot out result?

I have ridden kx’s since 1981 and I’m about to purchase another new 450kx. Kx 450s didn’t win any shoot outs this year!

It factors into my decision sure. If I can’t go ride all of the options, I take whatever real world info that I can get my hands on. Shootouts provide that at least in some regards.

A week and a half ago I went 2-1 for 1st overall on a bone stock 2017 RMZ450 that I personally only have about 2 hours worth of riding on. So I'd say at the average rider level, it's a damn good bike.

Out of the gate wasn't all that great and I made some mistakes, but the old Suzuki definitely got me in, through and out of the first turn fast!
