Been loving my 18 since I got it...every one says the shocks stiff...for a fat kid at 210 the sag and everything's pretty in point and feels pretty solid. I've been on my friends 18 yz450 and other friends 17kx450. I like the yamaha alot but I dig how my bike tracks through turns. Still miss my yz250 tho

Don’t believe they hype. Mine has he’s been known to rip a few fat holies. Slow and heavy seems to work for this 50+ racer. 😂😂😂...

.
Plus the contingency program is awesome here in Texas.

First photo is sick! What track in TX? Son just moved to Houston and I'm looking to go down and ride with him.

Once I get the longer link arm and some softer springs it will be perfect although I don’t have it broke in all the way yet either, keep in mind it’s like 3k cheaper than the others, it’s still far beyond what any of us need to be competitive, save some money and buy a Suzuki and buy some cool shit for it

I have ridden kx’s since 1981 and I’m about to purchase another new 450kx. Kx 450s didn’t win any shoot outs this year!

It factors into my decision sure. If I can’t go ride all of the options, I take whatever real world info that I can get my hands on. Shootouts provide that at least in some regards.
I usually check to see where I can get good service after the sale. I had a great dealer that went under. I bought a Husky because one of the guys rode a Husky in WORCS and did some testing with factory Husky off road team. They were a HON/KAWA/YAMA and Husky dealer.
I have a pretty good Yamaha dealer in town. A mom and pop type shop that has been around forever. They support a lot of the local races here. My next bike might be a YZF.

TLDR: No.

Nice ride! I'm a loyal green rider but gotta say the new Zooks look badass.

Those things look great!

And I love your lever position! (That's how I run mine...most people think I'm crazy). Assuming you put them there?

$9K for a great bike with a bunch of unnecessary bells and whistles (estart, a little less weight, a little less power etc.) that won't make a difference at all. Or $6K for a great bike without those things...and that you will be able to go just as fast on.....I don't understand the problem...other than dirt bike riders are nuts (myself included....who just spend $9K OTD on a YZ450FX...but only because I wanted the cross country race bike though).

How’s the link? probably gunna order one today, I can’t quite get enough sag, I’m all the way soft but it’s only got 3 hours on it to, probably get some softer springs this winter

Link definitely made a difference for me. But that's just my experience.
