My kid riding my mint 1989 KX 250 Kawasaki. He had people's mouths drop open when he jumped all the stuff on the track. Original bike except for a pipe and bars and grips.

Of course he blew the shock and the main bearings went out. Never been ridden so hard in all of 30 years.

I wanted one of those bad when I was 15!!!!! But, I kept my mouth shut because I was on R&D 80's at the time....... Those things sounded soooo much healthier than the other 250's that year. Don't know how they performed on the track, but they sure sounded good.

It's no 450, but smooth like a 450. It has no real hit like my yz 250 . He loved it. It mostly sits in the garage. I have 450's and other modern bikes.

It seems to steer better than a modern bike. Brakes suck by today's standards. Suspension is ok but marshmallowey like all old bikes. But it works surprisingly good. He raced it in the 2 stroke class and won the first moto. 2nd moto it kinda fell apart. Jeff Ward didnt ride a bike as hard as a good 21 year old expert does today. He can break it hammering hard. Technics are so much more evolved than 30 years ago.......

I'd upload a video of him busting it big out on the track but cannot on Vital.

Thank you I really appreciate it!

I was surprised when I went to Milestone last Sunday and rode it for the first time in a year, I had quite a few thumbs up in the pits and a couple guys stopped by the truck as well to ask about it. The exhaust note is pretty crisp and turns heads it seems!

Can’t wait to hit LACR this weekend!

This is the 1998 KX250 I recently purchased. The bike I always wanted, and now I have it. I want to do a few things to it but otherwise, I'll keep it mostly stock.

Firing her up tomorrow for the first time in a year, just need to cut carb vent lines, install the petcock, fresh juice cut with Belray...and the gas cap. And add a prayer, lol.

Thanks man!. I do remeber talking with you. I plan on freshening it up this off-season. The motor was all new at jackpine but I want to add some trick bits to it as well

Yup, VHM with insert to run race fuel. Haven't ran this one yet, but I'll certainly give an update when I do. The 05 is so down on power...lol.
