Yeah not my cup of tea but I think it's apparently big business guys restoring old computer's why IDK lol. I've got an old YZ 80 will try that method on the tank see if it will get it back to white again was just wandering if anyone had tried it on a tank guess I'll find out..
Bike came out awesome! brings back memories of the early 90's. With yellow off colored tanks has anyone tried the cream peroxide/cling wrap/UV light trick? I seen a guy on a forum do an old nasty yellow looking white Stihl chainsaw fuel tank this way and it came out like new was very impressive. Here's just one vid of what...

Wow, I didn't even catch the water in there. He should be fine if he re-seats the rings with gorilla glue, and uses WD-40 to help disperse the water.

Some additional photos of cable routing, wiring. Not sure if the wiring is original, looks to be but I can improve upon it.

When I did mine I did research on jetting and tried finding different sides for getting the jetting right on but couldn't find anything as far as different slides or needles, parts seem to have dried up for these older bikes or I weren't looking in the right place?. But in the end with jets I seem to have got...

I had a 1990 KX250 back then. It was like a 125 on steroids. When I first got it,,the thing fouled plugs left right,,even B7. I found the solution from Carb Wharehouse.- a 5 (or 5.5) slide. Cleaned up the low speed richness. The parameter frame was known for cracking somewhere near gas tank on side. Beautiful build.

Thanks Sandman that would be great if you could put up a few more pics of the wiring and cable routing. From memory with little to no room under the tank I just bunched up the wiring and jammed it in between the radiators and it looks like I got the clutch cable all wrong going on your pics lol...

Your bike looks great! The RM125 sits in the garage, I decided it is best to leave the RM as a garage queen due to poor parts availability. I should at least run it up & down the road a few times! I tak a lot of photos during the teardown process so I can reference them later, I”m annal about wiring & cable routing! I will take more for you & post them. The wiring for this bike under the tank looks a little sloppy, but with the tank taking up a lot of the available space it may...

Sandman your builds are awesome! I call in weekly to check in on what you are up to. Love the RM125 any updates? But yeah when I did my 1990 KX250 there was little in the way of pics or information on the net (trust me I looked high and low) on how to run the wiring harness and cable's...

Thanks man....the most work will be soda blasting the raw aluminum parts, otherwise it’s very clean, underneath all the grime. These bikes looked great stock, that’s pretty much how it will stay. Here is a shot of the upper frame & rads.... even the hardware is still shinny

Finally moved bike onto the lift for some chassis/wheel work. Hubs, brake carriers and calipers are all natural aluminum and stained. Some of the spokes also have some staining, I have had good luck with soda blasting all these parts. I have been keeping the brake assemblies together for blasting on bikes that don’t require full caliper rebuilds.

Such a sweet find man. Congrats on the bike! It's funny. I'm working on an 86 rm125 and also a 91kx125. You inspire me to build the same colors. Haha A little photoshop on the graghics while they are being made Smile

Rescued this bike from fbook market place back in the spring. The photos were poor and description not much better. I seen a few things in the photos that led me to believe it was a low hr original bike. After the normal go around the seller sent me a few better photos, no attempt to clean the bike at all but I could see a lot of original parts that showed it was a low hr bike. We had agreed on a price & We had a day setup for me to come buy it....and the seller flaked on...
