2 Strokes are dead!?

How could anyone not love 2 strokes? That's basically saying you don't love a good smoker.

I don’t blame the thousands of 2 stroke riders! A 450 is a lot of bike to handle. Not everyone is built for the power or weight of a 450 4 stroke! It’s perfectly okay to ride a less powerful, lighter bike, but for me, I enjoy a real challenge!

Guessing you've never raced a 500..
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. CR 500 was a nice little challenge for me.

Agreed.

I don't blame the thousands of 4 stroke riders! A 500 is a lot of bike to handle. Not everyone is built for the more horsepower and torque or lighter weight of 500 2 stroke! It's perfectly okay to ride a less powerful, heavier 450, but for me, I enjoy a real challenge!

Don’t mess with the 2-stroke taliban. They are hard core.

I've made heaps of friends in the pits over the years just by walking up to guys and saying something along the lines of "yeah, go the 2 strokes."

Last race day I went from the mx2 class where I am used to having a power advantage to the vet class against a gate of mostly 450's. Those things are no joke. For the first time ever I am considering trading the yz 250 in for a 450

It's not the Vet bikes. It's their experience.

What kind of frame guards are those?
UFO They are pretty "cheap" but better than beating up your frame. Also the really are cheap enough that you can just replace them when they get hammered.

Been smokin exclusively since 2015. I’ll never go back.

Here in Kansas/Western Missouri the 250 A class is practically all two strokes. I can race 4 classes without disadvantage on one bike. Hard to beat.

Went riding yesterday - St. Joes State Park in Missouri (still costs $5 to get in). Not a lot of riders on a Monday (one of the reasons I went). I think I counted 8 bikes. I didn't look real close, but I think only one was a 4 stroke. Mostly newer KTMs & Huskys. Also a YZ250 and my last gen CR250.

It was my fist time there on the 250. The last few times had been on a CRF450.

I would have to say I enjoyed the 250 more simply because it didn't tire me out as quickly. A 450 is awesome, but could maybe be described as too much of a good thing.

For me at least, the 250 is just the right amount of a good thing.
Me and son went Sat., Mostly sidexsides, then ATVs, then bikes. I have 07 yz250f, he has 18 RMZ450. Not sure I'd want a 2smoke, if I did it would be a woods type for smoother ride on the rocky trails and to get lighter weight (new Husky 150 with fuel injection, oil injection, electric start).
His RMZ has smoother power than the YZF, YZF has a decent mid range hit, which I like. Not sure if difference is EFI versus carb.

So experience makes one bike pull harder on the straights than another? Ok.
Vet class here is +35 and I've raced against some of these guys for years. I've now gone from one of the fastest bikes in the class to one of the slowest. Deep down I don't think I can get rid of my yz, I just need to get faster

I sold my new KX250f and bought my self a project 500.. I love the feeling of rolling up to the gate on the old girl and swinging off the back of her down the start stretch.

I once dropped almost 50 grand plus tax on 2 strokes in one shot.
They burned 30 gallons of 94 UL AvGas and Klotz Super techniplate last weekend and I'll probably burn 50 this weekend.
Smells like candy.

Never owned a modern 250F or 450F MXer. Just didn't see the need. I was never going to be pro..

Its winter here in Aus, time to get the trusty 06 300 out of its winter slumber and ready for Spring days and warm nights.
