He's been putting in some good rides and getting exposure on the broadcasts- What's his status for 2020?

Dude's been solid from as far back as WW from what I can remember (likely longer).

HRC should throw him on a bike for Ironman as in incentive and motivation for 2020 outdoors. Not as a guaranteed ride for next year or anything, but enough of a taste to keep him motivated to continue improving. That's if someone else doesn't nab him earlier.

I wonder if his motor is stock, certainly he ran stock exhausts for a long time. Anyone know for sure?

He said he only has about $900 worth of Merge Racing mods in the engine. He was also still using the stock pipe up until last weekend in which I believe Yosh helped him out with a full system.

He put in some pretty good rides last year. I had him in my Pulp fantasy a few times.

He’s been working with me at the GAME Facility in Shawnee ok. In the 3 rounds we’ve done together he’s scored 69 points. In the other 6 races he did on his own he scored 55. With a full off season here on the program he will be in the top 5 in 2020 regional sx.

All things being equal, he has been the most impressive rider this outdoor series, IMO.

HRC, give a quick start privateer some support. Hard work pays off. Maxim Honda helps him out I believe.

Congrats to Short and Cunningham. Both are hard working privateers that deserve a shot somewhere on a 450 outdoors.

Good rides by him & Cunningham. Kind of makes you wonder if the JGR Factory Zuk isn't even on par with a somewhat modified stock CRF450r. Freddy seemed to be getting better results on the non Factory Honda with the exception of one race with the Zuk.

That logic intrigues me.

When a privateer rider does well on a privateer/stock bike they're doing well despite the bike. But if they produce the same or similar results on a factory team then its because the bike isn't very good?

I actually get the logic, the privateer bike is better than a factory bike if you go by results alone.

However, the caveat is with that logic...is that Freddy knows the Honda much better than the Zook, perhaps better results are to come?

It's just one mans point of view. I wouldn't read to much into it..

HOW the HELL does Honda not justify a satellite factory supported team??? and yes I know the Geico team isn't "THE" factory team - but it might as well be.

They literally have so many amateurs coming up that they had to add a tent to their pit this past weekend. and that with's Christian Craig suspended!!

Meanwhile, dudes like John Short are killing it IN THE PREMIER CLASS on mostly stock equipment. WTF is wrong with this picture???

Whats the benefit for a Factory team to put a fill in rider on the bike then? If he does good the riders a genius. If he does bad the bikes not as good as a thrashed out standard bike. Its a lose lose from their point of view.

More often than not the actual performace of the bike doesnt make one inch of difference, no matter how much peoplemthrow around that so and so should have a factory ride because of a few top 10-15 rides. Put that guy on a factory bike and he still doesnt beat the top knotch factory guys, but people want to blame the factory bike for being slow.
