If all you yokels could act older than ten years old and understand things like grown ups the whole app bullshit would go away and these jack offs would have to provide a free quality broadcast like they've done for years but noooooo. "I wanna show how bitchen l am by fucking over the smart guys and paying for a service that used to be free but l'm super cool because l'm dumb enough to pay for free shit and then lord over the guys who weren't dumb enough to get suckered."

"Me, me, me, look at me l've got the shiny new thing and you don't, so there. I'm more hardcore than you because l pay" FFS

Amazing.
Still plays on TV, and that's not free either.

I was streaming it flawlessly in 4k on my phone at the bottom of a quarry. Not even kidding.

So I did some testing, as this is very repeatable in my case.

Here is what I can state as fact:

1. My experience has been great since Hangtown 2018, This started during last weeks qualifiers
2. The resolution is great for anywhere from 5-10 mins but reverts to low res
3. Once it reverts to low res it "can" go back to HD after a few minutes usually around 5 to 10, but I don't typically wait that long
4. Immediate restart of the broadcast(I don't close out of the app, just restart the race) and back to HD for about 5-10 mins and the cycle continues

I had just been restarting the race when it happened until the 450 race two this week. So I have a good sampling of the issue, roughly 9 hours worth.

I got the low res issue twice on 450 race two broadcast, once on the "Your coverage will begin shortly" screen, once before the race even started. I then switched to stream from my computer. Used the same wired network, cable and all. FLAWLESS. No issues for 30 straight minutes. I then switched back to Roku and 6 mins later low res.

All that to say it is something with my Roku IMO

I will get my FireTV setup and test next week.

I have the same issue and here's whats even more odd. I have 2 TVs that i typically watch MX on, both are Roku TVs with the Roku built into the TV. One TV is hard wired to the Cox Gigablast and typically runs +100 mbps. The other TV is wireless. The wireless has a slower connection speed at about 20 mbps. the SLOWER connection TV is crystal clear and the wired, faster speed, higher Def TV gets grainy. I can't explain it. And if I watch on NBC (not the app, but watch on NBC sports via playstation Vue), its perfectly clear on both. for some reason the NBC sports app gets messed up on the one TV, and the app is up to date. I can't figure it out.

I just got done watching all BC races again. Flawless, not a glitch. I even watched some of the races connected to wifi. No problems all.

I always watch the races live and that's when I experienced what I described in my previous comments. Never tried to go back and stream until yesterday/today.

Yep same issues here. Perfect all year until last two weeks. Have to back out and restart t about every 5-10 minutes. Annoying to have to do that or else watch a blurry race where you can’t tel who is who. Hopefully this gets ironed out and I won’t be renewing next year. Sucks because it has been great until now

I don't have any quality issues, but I can't get the app to stream to Chromecast from my phone any more (started last week). Youtube and Netflix stream just fine, only the Gold App won't. Works perfectly fine if I use my girlfriend's phone, though.

Watching on PC has some weird lockup within a few minutes like the PC is trying to buffer but can’t. Then about third retry it works normal. On app it is perfect every time.
For reference MXGP.tv works perfect every time on PC or through browser on phone. its clunky on phone to not “fat finger” the wrong link, but doesn’t hang up ever.

My quality was poo as well the last two weeks. Funny thing is... on the still camera when nothings is going on and its just the infield or something its clear as a bell but when they switch to the race cameras it goes to shit.

No issues with mine, watched 2 moto's chromecasting to my TV and the other 2 just on my phone. My home internet is only the 10 mbps plan, but that's plenty fast for most websites since they restrict the user bandwidth.

Where was it free? I saved a ton of money by canceling cable and just using the app.

it's been garbage for me too the last couple weeks. I always watch 'replays' via Chromecast or Amazon Firestick app and our connection speed is 20-50Mbps so that's definitely not the issue. If this continues, it's definitely not worth $50, what a shame!

I just sent an email to their support about this, you guys that are seeing the issue should do the same.

Couple issues...

NBC Gold no longer plays in google chrome.

Have to use edge. To make it worse, video and audio dont stay in sync in full screen.

Unless you live in area where cable is free, you've always paid for it.

In order for SX and MX to grow it needs TV coverage, people purchasing this app will eventually cause the TV coverage to go away. Its called cause and effect. Be care full what you wish for you as might just get it.

Mine looks great.

Stream it on a Roku TV and an iPhone 8+ both.

I sincerely doubt that. The number of people purchasing the app subscription is miniscule compared to the tv viewership numbers, even for the cable/satellite only broadcasts (MavTV and NBCSN). If the TV numbers justified full coverage of all 4 motos, it would happen, unfortunately the numbers just aren't there compared to stick and ball stuff, whether or not the gold pkg is available for purchase.

Lol. The app has zero affect on whether or not the sport is on TV. All it is, is another Avenue to broadcast and another revenue stream. Nobody is being forced to get or keep the app.

Another update...

I have two Roku's that I watch races on. As of last night I couldn't load the races from either Roku. I am able to access the "Replay" section and as soon as I click on the race it starts to cache and crashes to home screen. I tried this with my standard internet and through my phone.

Not sure what is going on but I am blaming my Roku at this point. I still have to dig out my FireTV to give it a go.

Personally I will continue to use the NBC Sports/Gold service as I think it is a great value. Are there issues, sure, but I really don't think it is with the service itself. I will be a subscriber as long as it's available.

I’ve had ZERO issues all year long. Super high quality footage. Definitely renewing for next year.

Reply from NBC. I’m streaming with a Roku 4K, may just be isolated to Roku. App is up to date, but I’ll delete and try again Saturday. I’ve never had an issue with gold until recently, I’ve hot spotted off my phone while camping with zero issues more times than I can count. Hope this does the trick

Well crap. It was good from beginning of broadcast to 22:00 left in the 250 race.

Roku Issues
250 Race 1:
22:00 remaining
10:20 remaining
Last lap

Switching to FireTV for 450 Race 1. Fingers crossed

I’m on Roku, having the same exact issue as described. Good for a few minutes at the start of the show, then it will go to super low res. I’m talking such low resolution I can’t even read the scoreboard. If I close the broadcast and come back to it, it’s fine for a few then it goes back to low res. This wasn’t a problem up until a few weeks ago.

Hope that works out for you. I've been having the blurry screen BS occasionally...got 50meg internet, but it runs slow at times because spectrum blows. If you get the blurry screen hit speed test.net and check your internet connection. It'll tell you your connection speed and what the latency is. A traceroute utility will tell you if you have any packet loss between the stream server and you. (You'll have to get the IP address of the stream server though)

My stream was perfect all season until a couple of races ago, using a Roku as well. Decided to just hook my laptop up to my TV and use the NBCSN gold website and voila, stream is perfect.

I just streamed via Roku and my MacBook at the same time on the same WiFi network and only the Roku is low quality. I know what you mean, can’t even make out names/numbers on the bar on the left with the running order. Seems like it’s a Roku issue!
