It's ridiculous that they give guys without a single premiere class race a single digit number.

IF change then take = 9
ELSE IF not 9, then take = 8

I have always believed the classes should be separate 1-100 in each class...lites class should be based in rank of previous year like the past, perm numbers in 450 class and immediately surrendered upon retirement from full time competition (sorry mike brown) or 2 years inactive.

AC said in an old pulp interview that he would be interested in #2 if he won 250 outdoors.

This was right after RV hung it up and before Webb took it.

Point being he's stated interest in a single digit before.

What about Kawi? Do they care about having two riders with single digits on their team?

Totally agree. If you win a 250 championship you should get the option of 11-19, but single digits should be reserved for 450 championship winners.

He'll keep the 92 but the 9 would fit. I prefer the look of 5.

so we would have 2 guys in single digits?

Eli and Kenny?

That seems really lame to me...

unless you include Jason Anderson and Webb for the supercross titles..

He's working on a single digit number for the end of the summer. That's the only single digit number anyone should be concerned with. The other ones are irrelevant.

Supercross titles count, so it would be four. I'm good with that.

Five, counting Reed.

Under the current rules, there are 10 riders qualified for 8 total single digit numbers.

DW15 did not take one or Zacho as wel KR94 and JA21.

If and when AC92 wins his title i think he will stay 92.

So ZachO couldn't pick a single digit # next year if he wanted to even though he has a National championship? You have to do it right after your 250 championship and thats your only chance?

I am surprised nobody mentioned the 5.

Lowest number available (so probably a bit better for the sponsors), AC has also a good image like Dungey, and it would look good next to the #3,

You really think a lower number means anything to sponsors? No one outside of MX attributes your number to your current rankings. You think Cairoli is suffering because he uses 222 or Gajser is losing money because of his 243? I think a rider keeping the same number for a while is more beneficial than having the lowest available number. Look at NASCAR for example, or 22 motorsports.

I say he keeps the 92, much more recognizable.

Fail. The 250 outdoor title is a NATIONAL championship. IMO I don't think winning the 250 is any easier than winning the 450 class outdoor. For damn sure, Baggett worked a lot harder in 2012 to get his title than Dungey who coasted to a 450 title. Same in 2015, after Tomac went out Dungey cruised to that title while J-Mart battled Musquin to the last round and might have even lost it had Marvin's pumpkin not grenaded. Hell, Roczen was eating pizza and crushing beers in 2016 while Webb had to fight back from a slow start with a broken wrist.

Who cares that they worked hard or secured their Championships later? They weren't the top guys in the premiere class. That was Dungey and Roczen.

You're right. I forgot this is Vital. I'll simplify for you:

"The 250 outdoor title is a NATIONAL championship"
