I heard at Washougal that JGR sounds more likely than Honda...but don't have team confirmation.
Any idea who will be going red in that case?

Pretty sure Joey knew that all along. He’s the one that signed the one year contract.
I wonder how knowing full well you're simply keeping a seat warm affects different riders in different ways?

Some must try hard and do well. Some others maybe crack under the worry of not knowing what next year holds?

Bogel, davalos would be good choices low cost potential high return options. Both would be good #2 riders.
Hill could be a option he has speed in spades, if Honda put a boot up his ass and got him to buckle down. Bowers wouldn't be a horrible choice either. Reed would be ideal for indoors to help keep their options open for 2021 plus all the free reed publicity.

But right now if joey goes to jgr i think Justin and Martin are Honda best riders for a 1 year contract.

I think most of us would agree that you take an HRC deal over a JGR deal if you have a choice... There aren't a lot of times the rider has a "choice". I think there was HRC talks already and I don't think a deal was able to get done. That's why I lean towards him being on JGR next year. And Savatgy and Noren would be a pretty good team compared to what they have had in recent years...

For another seat warmer position? 1 year on a bike he's never ridden and then guaranteed to be on another new bike the following year. I'd go with the multi year deal.

Wait. What?! Why just the other day, some industry insider on VitalMX said AC was going to Honda! I'm in a state of disbelief right now.

Joey’s comment was both hilarious & unbelievably honest.

He just made me a JS17 fan.

Yo, Bobby, you got room for a 4th rider? Joey’s got “Rockstar” written all over him!

Either way u look at it, it’s a new bike right? He has the opportunity of a lifetime to prove himself. It’s a gamble and I get the money aspect but ya, tough spot. I go Honda

I don't believe this press release. I still think AC goes to HRC. Racer111 said so, he knows an insider

He'll take the 2 year deal with JGR if he's got his head screwed on, babies are expensive! Does JS really want to be on another team thats focused on their top guy (Roczen) or BE the guy? Just my thoughts, easy choice

I do like the idea of building a relationship, not just filling a spot for a year.

With Johnny O' in his ear, I will be surprised if he doesn't go the Honda route.

Yeah but the difference being his situation in 2021. Either spend a whole year getting acclimated to the new bike and team only to more than likely leave when the year is done or have the guarantee of a second year with the same bike and crew.

I have doubts that Honda will offer JS17 a deal, but who really knows. The outdoors hasn't helped his cause. I think JGR if they get a title sponsor and stay in business will be bargain shopping. I don't see them re-signing Hill. If they offer JS17 a contract I would imagine it would be mostly incentive based. There are a lot of guys on par with Joey that need jobs and would work cheap to try and save their careers.

How about Brayton for SX?

Sexton for MX?

Go back and re-read. I think it would be a spot where it focuses on his strengths.

Foothill Ranch, Calif. (August 6 2019) – The Monster Energy® Kawasaki race team returns with a set of familiar faces, looking to continue their winning ways in 2020. The team has had a successful year in Monster Energy AMA Supercross and is in the thick of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship battle in both classes. For 2020, the Monster Energy Kawasaki roster of riders aboard KX™450 motorcycles will feature two-time defending AMA Pro Motocross Champion and current AMA Pro Motocross Championship points leader Eli Tomac. Joining him will be Adam Cianciarulo making his premier class debut. Following his record-setting amateur years with the Team Green™ race team and a successful career underneath the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team awning, he will now join the factory 450 effort. After a successful debut in the 450 class, Joey Savatgy will finish the final three AMA Pro Motocross rounds with full support of the team to close out his rookie season.

"We have a very strong 2020 team roster," said Kawasaki Racing Senior Manager, Dan Fahie. "We still have work to do this summer in hopes that both Eli and Adam can bring home championships in their respective classes. We are excited to be continuing our championship journey with Eli and welcoming Adam and his storied Kawasaki racing career onto our 450 team. We learned a lot about our KX450 and are in a good place heading into 2020 with the development of the motorcycle."

Tomac and Cianciarulo aim to complete the 2019 AMA Pro Motocross Championship with a green sweep of the championships in both the 450MX and 250MX classes. Tomac and his new premier class stable-mate Cianciarulo will then head to Las Vegas on October 19thto battle in the desert for the coveted “Monster Million” at the annual Monster Energy Cup, where Tomac sets his sights on claiming the ultimate prize for the second year in a row. Marking what will be his fifth year with Kawasaki Racing, Tomac relentlessly proves to be a top contender in the premier class, earning 27 450SX wins. He currently sits fifth on the all-time 450MX Class win list with 18 overall wins and 36 podium finishes aboard his KX450 motorcycle. Meanwhile, Cianciarulo looks to carry the momentum of his 2019 success into the premier class. Cianciarulo currently holds the points lead in the 250MX class with six moto wins and six overall wins, and is the only rider in the class to have finished every moto on the podium this season.

“I’m thrilled to continue the relationship with Kawasaki,” said Tomac. “I feel we have an outstanding team in place, an excellent KX450 motorcycle and a common goal of winning races and championships. Right now our focus is on winning this Pro Motocross Championship and then we will begin preparing for the 2020 Supercross season. Let the good times roll!”

“I am super excited and grateful for this opportunity," said Cianciarulo. “I was just a little kid when I signed with Kawasaki in 2004, and it’s been a dream of mine since then to reach this point. From growing up in the Team Green program, to my 250cc career with Mitch Payton and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki, I feel I’m prepared to take on this next challenge of competing at the highest level. The work has just begun and I’m ready to get started on my new KX450.”

The 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM Championship, drops the gate on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California.
I may have missed it but is AC signed for 2020 only or is this a multi-year deal?

Okay...for Sexton? It'd allow him a chance to defend his title with GEICO Honda, and then have a chance to spend a season on a 450 before SX. I don't see the problem with that plan, either. It's going to be a smidge crowded under their tent once Jeremy Martin comes back.

Where's that dude that has been blowing this place up the last week saying AC is going red?
I never said he was GOING red. I said a family member WANTED him to go red. The reading comprehension on this site is atrocious.

Good for AC92. Now between him and Mookie I have two guys to cheer for on a 450.
