He trains down at Aldons and rides the 557 quite a bit. I hope KTM lets him do this again, although I could understand why they may be a little bit scared to send him out there. He performed well last year although it was mud, he did qualify 12th when it was dry. Also KTM has 2 riders this season compared to one last season. Does anyone have any intel on if this is something that will happen or not?

He hurt his shoulder last year in his first race. No chance he tries this year. I would love to see him out there again though.

If he does it will be during GNCC's summer break, he has a 43pt lead on Thad. I think its possible he does Unadilla or Budds. I have no idea though, just guessing.

He was asked during a practice session at WW Ranch and said it's highly doubtful that he'll join a race this series.

Since GNCC goes on a few months after the MX Nationals, perhaps a few MX guys would like to join the GNCC fun?

When is the last time someone did that? I know Pastrana ran in Florida but long after his prime, maybe Plessinger would like to make up for some of the lost seat time this year?

I think Osborne was the last top level MX guy to do some offroad.
Seems like he plans to switch over after he retires from moto.

Osbourne is an ISDE gold medalist, straight up badass on a motorcycle. I think Doug Henry won a GNCC in 2005 before being paralyzed.

I hope he does! Such a genuinely nice dude. I was lucky enough to get a jersey from his Unadilla race last year so I have one of his only AMA Motocross jerseys. Special piece!

Zach is my favorite active pro racer at this time for sure.

Speaking of Zach and Doug, you should listen to the podcast they did together, I really enjoyed it:

Don't know, don't care.

What I do know is the longer Kailub sticks around and dominates GNCC the more he impresses me, dude is an all timer in the off road world for sure. Unbelievable how consistently successful he has been in GNCC, he is gonna have records that likely never get beat by the time he's done.

I'd love to see him add another team win at ISDE this year, hell I wouldn't rule it out that him, Taylor Robert and Sipes could take the individual podium spots themselves!

Winning the xc1 class on a 150 two stroke sealed the deal for me. Dude is a legend.

Nope. Last one was mcadoo. Ironman in 17 or 18. Looked like a total squid and finished in the back of the pack.

His lap times were within 4 minutes of Kaliub Russells. Except one lap where he was 20+ minutes off his own times. So come on, a squid? His laps for the most part were similar to some really fast guys who normally take top 20 overalls. Cameron certainly wasn’t a “squid.”

Sipes?

Mike Kiedrowski won 3 national titles (two 125 in 89/91, one 250 in 93, also won the 500 title in 92 while runner up in 250) and finished top 4 in 250 SX and national 125/250 MX from 90-95. Raced GNCC for several years, won the WORCS title twice on a development DRZ400, back when the WORCS series was gnarly with a lot of pro-MX guys running it.

Like ZachO, he also was a representative on MXdN (4 times, 3 winning teams) and grabbed a gold medal at Six Days.

Kiedrowski never won a GNCC, something Sipes has that Zacho doesn't either (he's got a few XC2 podiums).

Mike Brown has had a lot of success off-road, but never won a GNCC either.

Ty Davis obviously made his name in off-road racing. He's a 125SX champ, but that was when the class was truly a series that a decent support rider could contend for titles. He actually has 1 GNCC win to his name as well.

I wasn't thinking of him since I think of him as a full-time off-road guy now...

"Off-road guy"; that's not even fair is it? Sipes is a full-time bad-ass of everything two wheels now.

He's not full time off-road anymore. He is just riding whatever the hell: 2 SXs, one GNCC, and a bunch of American Flat track this year.

He did Erzberg too which just looks like hell! I wonder if he will line up for any nationals

Not gonna happen. 4 rounds left in GNCC and Thaddy989 43 points behind. KR557 misses 2 rounds and Thad wins the title. KR557 misses 1 round and struggles the last three...Thad wins title. KR gets paid to win GNCC titles. unless KR557 locks up GNCC title early, MX is all risk, no reward for him. (I know your reading this Kailub...no disrespect to you...you're a badass, but facts are facts. I know MX doesn't pay your bills). That said....still would like to see you go whole hog in some MX Smile

Rodney Smith did a good bit of off road damage.

kailub doesn't belong on a motocross track professionally... he is where he is the best, and should stay there. no reward for the risk. it would be a 15th ish place at best and as a multi X champ somewhere else that wont interest him.
