Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing announced this afternoon that Michael Mosiman will miss the Southwick National this weekend after suffering a practice crash during the week. The team stated that Mosiman had suffered “a minor crash causing him to be sidelined for this weekend’s race.”

“I am especially disappointed with missing this round because I am so close in points to fourth and fifth place,” Mosiman said. “My confidence does not waiver and I look forward to battling for podiums the rest of the season. I am thankful to God for the opportunity to have my greatest passion also be my job and I trust that somehow He will use this injury for good.”

Bummer that he's out, he was coming up.

But...

"I am thankful to God for the opportunity to have my greatest passion also be my job and I trust that somehow He will use this injury for good.”

Sorry Michael, but God is too busy making millions suffer the ravages of hunger, thirst and disease to use your motocross injury for good at the moment.

Can't people say anything without having to nitpick it apart here? Ironic that I feel to comment but sometimes just leave it be.

Too bad for Mosiman, he's been riding great since end of supercross and into outdoors.

sounds like someone’s mad at god. I bet you also don’t believe in him at the same time. Try to figure that one out

Right???!?!?!?!?

This kind of shit is absurd

Some people just take religion, ESPECIALLY Christianity way too seriously.

Its funny when riders say "I want to thank god for keeping me safe out there today" ...... oh yes thats right, god made sure to catch the SX or MX race and made sure one of his favorite riders didnt get hurt but poor Johnny that got carried off on a stretcher was not on gods roster was he?

If you want to go there, we can.

God doesn't make million suffer, sin has allowed millions to suffer. Don't make this thread "religious".

It is interesting how pro MX riders tend to skew so heavily in the religious category, constantly throwing it into every camera/interview moment. For sure other religious warriors in other sports, but MX does seems to have more than normal. They should all open up that good book of theirs and read Matthew 6:5 a few times.

Past that: Shame Mosiman is out for this weekend, he's been riding well last few rounds.

Crickey. You have young passionate kids with limited life experience wanting to express their world view, but who knows exactly whats behind it.

As for the world we live in, if you believe him, Paul says God has set things so we might find God. For some the mess of this world drives people away, for others it drives people to God.....

I’m confused at this also. Riders thank god after a race for keeping them safe. What do they say/think after crashing hard and injuring themselves.

Take Canard for example. He always thanked god for keeping him safe but he got more seriously hurt more times than most riders.

Sucks about Mosiman getting hurt though he was ripping this year outdoors.

how bout you post the verse for us and do a commentary so we don’t have to read it a couple times to understand how it relates to someone thanking God in the podium.

It’s in every sport. Ask most professional athletes. They’ll tell you they believe in god.

Most people who attend my church are pretty darn successful.

Maybe there’s some sort of correlation there? I don’t know. Don’t really care to be honest.

Get well Michael. He’s been so good this year and he had a real shot at finishing inside the top 5 in points.

Why do you care though? Honestly, does it affect anyone’s life what someone else believes in? I just don’t get some people. Why do people get offended over something that has literally no bearing on their life what so ever?

Seems to me you might need to learn the difference between praying , Giving Thanks & Testifying.

I can't believe how critical people are.

I say good for the kid saying what He believes knowing the assholes will attack him for it.

I could care less what people choose to believe or don’t believe. Whatever beliefs someone has that makes them happy and get through each day more power to them.

But as a non religious person I was asking a simple question.

And that question is If someone thanks god every time they stay safe what is their thought when they injure themselves next time? Was god not watching? did god not care this time? Was god on vacation? etc

Serious question as I’m trying to understand How the religious mind works.

I tend to take this approach more often than not, but let's not pretend religion has no bearing on our lives. Wars are fought over it. Elections are decided by it. Young boys are traumatized by it.

I'm 100% down for people being spiritual. After a few mushroom trips, I believe in a higher being myself. A shitload of people in history have had similar spiritual experiences about connecting with a higher power. Some of those stories became religions. The fallacy is thinking that their story, and rules, is right. They are all talking about the same thing. We are all one.

The world would be a better place if people became more spiritual and less religious.
