They are sore losers.
Hmmm, hard to be excited about going to a race that is rigged against us all while knowing that your going to be put on blast when you return by your own fans! I’d probably be sore.

ET is no slouch in the sand. I hope he goes.

How is Anderson in the sand?

Same with AC?
I actually think it's weirdly one of those tracks where they'd do well.

I’m sure the FIM will give you one of these and a quiet place for a lay down if it’s all to hard. Cool

For sure Tomac would do well, he’s got the stamina and strength for it no probs. Just a couple of weeks testing and he would be right there. But hey why represent your country and be proud to when there’s a million dollars up for grabs at home. Its money before representing your country and there’s nothing else to it.

Again, he can’t go if Kawasaki already said they will not go and support him. Tomac is bound by contract to do the MEC.

I don't get the entitlement of fans that the US "needs" to show up. The US doesn't HAVE to do shit. It is not the Olympics... it is a 100% for profit event and if the US teams/riders feel they are not getting their cut and don't want to go... so be it.

This is a business to them... they need to do what is best for them.

Now... if the US doesn't go because they are not winning... ahh... that's BS. Either way... I will be in the Netherlands that weekend... will go if the US sends a team... if not... well I hear there is plenty of other things to check out.

Losing 7 years in a row, probably not a chance for the podium at Assen, I’m sure a excuse will surface soon to not participate. MACA, make America competitive again.

If he wants to come over someone will get him one (Kawasaki) over here. His USA spec one didn’t look anything special when he was eating tommy searle’s roost on a stock one last year. Why would you sign a contract with a team that won’t let you represent your country. I’m calling BS on that one. MXON needs riders like Eli, he’s good enough to run top three if he’s feeling it.

I’d support not going only to support the Canadian effort to get rid of the CMA’s involvement with running (ruining) their team.

Assen turns into a Giant Supercross Whoop Section.

So, the “I’m prepping for the MEC” argument is lame.

I’d say Tomac, Anderson and Osborne have a very good chance to win.

All 3 of those guys are on 450's. I suppose Osborne could drop back to a 250 but I think AC would be a better choice.

I don't buy the " cost " excuse , but I totally understand the scheduling conflict of it.

There are three huge series on this planet....GP's and the SX / Nationals.

The MXoN's always seems to happen within about 2 weeks right after the last GP , and 97% of the time , it's over on that side of the world. Our guy's have to keep motivated and training like 4 - 6 more weeks after our series is over ( They started in January for SX ). They aren't racing anything , and after 9 months of doing nothing but racing.......I can totally see why some wouldn't want to go.

Also......does someone have that yearly date / previous schedule of when the MXoN's happen? From what I remember , it's like 3 - 4 weeks later then what it used to be. Anyways , I hope our guy's go , but I don't blame any of the rider's or team member's for not wanting to extend their yearly schedule by 6 weeks longer for a bragging rights race.
A bragging rights race?

I dunno. I felt more gut punched after red bud than as if our country/racers lost bragging rights.

Felt more like a serious slash across my national pride and also pride in the entire US racing industry. I, and many many others were forced to face the fact that US superiority in dirt bike racing was a thing of the past.

That said I'm proud of any racer that answers the call and really hope our 3 best candidates accept their nominations and that their respective teams back them with full support.

The point is that Luongo makes bank on MXoN, the USA is the biggest draw, so why not get some kind of expense offset to help with costs?

I agree that we should go. But....comparing the USA getting expenses partially covered to Venezuela getting theirs is like saying the Foo Fighters and some unknown local opening band should get the same perks.

This is a business, whether folks want to admit it or not. Luongo is the only real winner here...

How come DC hasn’t chimed in on why they couldn’t start outdoors later?

They should go. They should get beaten. And they should try again next year. And this year and the next they should petition Luongo for help as it is deemed needed.

But It doesn't get better from not trying. Don't be pussies.

There's also no need to send a thousand people like you guys do. The rest of the world doesn't. It's not needed. Send a mech and the riders. If your suspension isn't perfect, well it might not be perfect for the euro or Aussie teams who send just a mech. Riders pay for the wives if they want.

It's just such a waaaah 2019 attitude to not go because it's too hard.

Don't get me wrong , I'm not down playing the event. It's an incredible race for sure. It just conflicts pretty bad with any racer , from any country that races SX , MEC and the nationals here.

I'll ask this question to anyone on thios board , so answer honestly. " If you were asked to work an extra 6 weeks per year , for free , would you? " Because that is exactly what you are asking the rider's and teams to do.

The GP guy's don't have to do that. Their season ends two weeks before the MXoN's race.

Again....I'm sure most all the guy's here would love to do the race , but you're asking them to keep training for 6 weeks for something they won't make one penny at , and cuts into either off time , or 2020 SX prep. Which btw is where and how they make their living.

Its just list its importance imo , all The Best Top Riders from all around the world Race each other weekly at the Big series in The USA and In EUROPE
Im not sure how this race came to be But sending 3 guys
To race each other for one day really just doesnt
Prove anything or seem to have the importance it once did.
I have been feeling this way for years.

We have more than three guys who'd probably pay their own way if they had to. Those guys may not make for a winning team but they'd proudly represent us. I get the timing argument but my feeling is if we were still dominating very few guys would be complaining. It's turned into a thankless job since we pressure guys to go and then endlessly shit on them for not winning. Maybe if we supported the effort more? Couldn't hurt.

Thankless is spot on. Been that way on this forum for as long as I can remember in regards to the US not winning the event.

USA team not going for sure is a bummer. You know you are on the top when everyone wants to see you down. With that being said, not having team USA is not going to make any less how great this race is and they won't be missed.

First, we should absolutely go and send the best available. However a few things some of the Euro's are being quite disingenuous about.

1. The distance from Paris to Moscow is almost 1,000 less miles than it is from Washougal to Unadilla. So when a rider from Austria hops on a plane, drives, etc from Vienna to Assen (705 miles) is only 70 more miles than it is from Dallas to El Paso...... This brings me into point 2

2. This event is extremely catered to GP riders, all of their teams are HQ'd in Europe, all of their families, friends, etc. Hell majority of the continents population lives within 2 time zones compared to our 4.

3. From 1979-2019 the MXDN has left Europe only 6 times (4 USA, 1 AUS, 1 BRA).......... 6 times in 40 years is a bit ridiculous. Move the damn thing around. Canada, Asia, Australia everyone always has to come to Europe, race on tracks that GP riders race on during the year (most of the time)

Anyways, no matter where it's at I hope we go and compete .

Not showing up looks way worse than going and getting beat straight up.

AC, Tomac and Osborne would acquit themselves just fine. Better 3 rider team than most other nations.

Herlings hurt, Cairoli hurt, Gajser has no team mates, Prado has no team mates, Desalle hurt, Coldenhoff shit year so far, Anstie, Searle shit tears so far, TKO has no team mates.

So France again: Paulin, Febvre, Ferrandis?
Swiss? Seewer, Tonus and? Guillod hurt?

Doors wide open. Pick a team and swing for the fences.

Mic drop right here.

Every time an MXDN post comes up the dates come and somebody wants an explanation from DC why the nationals end when they do....and he usually explains that a) The teams/industry asked for it and b) The networks asked for it because of college football starting in August...Also don't everyone blame Eli, blame Kawasaki as they (Bruce S) will not support the MXDN....and what are the chances of them allowing their new to the team 2020 rider to go....The team (if it goes) will be an all Austrian team...two on white and one on orange
