This is true how cool was it to see fans line the track now you have to be 100ft away from the track it takes away from the appeal of being in a involving environment. Having said that i'd guess that the Hannah tuff era implemented most of the snow flake rules that govern our sport today.
The biggest thing this sport (all action sports) had going for it in the 70's, 80's 90's and early 2000's was "at your own risk"
Until this is re-applied the sports will stop growing as insurance is the killer. Insurance = higher prices all round

Still don't agree about closing local tracks on the day of a national. The guys out there actually buying bikes, buying parts to maintain/upgrade them, buying gear, and paying to practice (AND RACE) are supporting the sport.

Do you really think I'd go to Pala if all the local tracks closed? You would find me in the desert enjoying the epic trails (we are still getting rain out here, after all). The coolest race I've attended in the last decade was the recent 2 Stroke Championship... And I got to race too! Yup, I'm 34 and "old" I guess. Stuck in my ways and miss 2 strokes, or whatever. Call me what you want. I'll still be out there every other week supporting the sport by riding and racing.

PS- Corduroy? Fuck no. The rest, sure.

I’ll be honest, of course I was over the top in my original post. I was trying to be funny with a hint of realism. I know closing the local tracks wont drive everyone to the national. I wish it would. But it won’t. But having “special events” to take away from race is BS, but we can leave that in another thread.

The core of the sport is the riders, the average guys loading up and going riding. I know this.

Not everyone is a snowflake that chooses to not go to the national. But, the sport and spectators have gone soft with the ability to not go and talk shit from the sideline. That’s all.

Except mysterio117, he’s a snowflake. For sure. ??Woohoo

Would those complaining about the sideshow 125 "series" instead a proactive approach like the EMX series for future MX be considered snowflakes?

The one weekend a year the pros came through they were at the track to watch their heroes. They bonded with fellow fans, sometimes fist fought for a good place at the fence. I haven’t even seen a good fist fight at the track in years.

Couple things -

local tracks should close for Saturday... support the sport. Open Sunday.

Internet streaming black-out in a 250 mile radius.

Yeah, yeah.... bunch of snowflakes going to tell me I’m stupid, Get outside, stand by the fence, get roosted, throw a Shaka and cheer the riders on. Get fired up to ride.

Anyone throwing me a thumbs down, should be deported.

This is true how cool was it to see fans line the track now you have to be 100ft away from the track it takes away from the appeal of being in a involving environment. Having said that i'd guess that the Hannah tuff era implemented most of the snow flake rules that govern our sport today.

And you cant bring in beer anymore since like 2005 or some shit... Blame the promoters... This millinieal (88) has worked in construction, done the trades, been at races in 110+ degree heat (elsinore mx & glen helen) and has decided fuck that shit.. I'm going to go drive my RC car, smoke 2 joints in the morning, smoke 2 joints in the afternoon then imma smoke 2 more and then do some PC gaming and call it a day. I'll see the nationals from my A/C home on youtube without the sunburn and traffic

The best way to know if someone is a snowflake for sure is to call them a snowflake. If the response lacks logic of any kind, and you get " you're the one complaining about snowflakes, so you are the snowflake", or anything similar from them, then you know they are a genuine snowflake.

I was never really great at anything. Not racing, I had good moments. Well, lately life is pretty good. I am kicking ass in a few things, it’s all goood.

I do believe the saying “the older I get the faster I was” - that is a great quote. So I get what you’re saying.

However, I will not change my stance. I don’t believe the Assyrian clay tablet was speaking about Moto and its fan base that is turning into a bunch of snowflakes. (sorry JWRM)

Even thought the world is changing, doesn’t mean it’s all for the best and us “old” (how the fuck did I get labeled old? Tongue ) folks don’t have to just accept it. There are. A lot of old wise men out there that the snowflakes could learn a thing two from, if they didn’t think they know everything already.

I could NEVER get upset over what anyone here says. It’s bench racing. It’s the internet. It’s for fun. I’ve been around here a long time, I’ve got thick skin. I will never be Hannah tough either. That’s almost being Chuck Norris tough. It’s not obtainable. Especially from anyone in here complaining about traffic, being hot at the races, their internet not streaming in HD, etc etc....

i'd blame whatever you think the reason people not attending races on technology. It's happening in every sport, the viewing is better on TV. Most tracks you can't see the whole thing and they are spread out so even if you can see most of the track it's hard to tell whats happening.

are people not attending races? seems like i see alot of people in attendance on TV..
