Sidewinder. Cost a lot more but they last forever. Bought 1 set since 2005 on my RMZ450 and had to only adjust it twice and they have 200 + hours on it and still going strong.

I just put a Supersprox steelie in my 150sx. I’m impressed for $42.

Yes.

JT/Turner/Tusk steel sprockets are great for the money. Just not overly appealing to the eye.

Dirt Tricks look great. I can not justify the $120 price tag for one. Not when a steel JT will last 100 hours.

DID ERT2 if I were racing a small bore.

Regina, EK, DID, RK, etc. o-ring for everything else. We see a lot of mud on the east coast...standard chains just do not hold up.

You spend a whole lot of money on a fancy rear sprocket and chain that's supposedly more durable and then your front sprocket goes out in the same time that it normally does.

Has anyone replaced only one component before? What happened?
The set replacement is a myth when it comes to a steel rear and quality chain. Replace the front as needed.

Mika Metals, best product by far for the price. Upon checkout put OTHG2012 and you'll get 50% off, all year everyday. You're welcome dudes.

I run the renthal twin rings on the back with supersprox fronts. Always the DID x-ring chain for me. I race off road and I can get a full season out of the chain and front sprocket and two seasons out of the rear.

I've had about 10 different chains over the years. Rental R1 has worked great. I replace my chain and sprockets every season no matter what. 150 bucks for piece of mind is well worth it. Basic renthal rear sprocket and primary drive front this year on the 450. I have about 20 hours ride time in deep sand(just like southwick) and every thing is still perfect. Ive had to adjust the chain twice.

Renthal is all I have ever ran. Chain and sprockets. I may give Mika a try next time I change them out on my 125.

I run these too. Don't race anymore. Never had an issue. Works just fine for me.

Does that code only work at certain sites? Gave it a shot on motosport, didn't work.

I’m potentially looking to buy a handful of sets but don’t want to go broke doing so.

I've been running the Primary Drive Stuff for a few seasons now. I've been getting around 30hrs of sandy trails out of the O-ring chain and aluminum rear sprocket. You can buy 2 complete sets for the price of some of the competition's rear sprocket.
All I buy are the Primary Drive steel sprockets and gold o-ring chains....I'm sitting at 80 hours on the current set. Way more life in them. And half the price of some of the other sprockets mentioned here. Only downside, as far as I can tell, is that I buy them as a package (chain and sprockets) and they only come in the stock tooth count.

I see no reason to buy any other branch of chain or sprocket...unless you like flushing money down the toilet.

I get 65% on Mika so i run them. Amazing products all around. BUT whatever new chain they have sucks. It stretches like crazy and kills your sprocket teeth

weird. I had one on my 250f for about 40 hours no issue, and the current one has stretched a bit but its still good.

What do you mean by it was toast? Hard to believe an R1 lasted only 10hours

9.6 hours, toast = done, finito, i.e. time to replace

RK chains. I started running RK because they have a high tensile strength. Any major sprocket manufacturer. Less chain stretch ='s less sprocket wear.

GB520MXU

MXU is the lightest sealed-ring motocross chain available on the market today. Made for the professional motocross racer, GB520MXU is the next generation of motocross racing chains featuring RK’s new UW-sealing rings. MXU chains are designed to provide the most consistent power delivery and increased chain life. All components are heat treated using Rk’s exclusive HIT (Heat Induction Transfer) process. MXU has a maximum tensile strength rated at 9,000 foot pounds, weighs a mere 3.0 lbs for 100 links and can handle any MX race application from 125 to 500ccs.

I’ve never had good luck with regina/renthal chains. Both times I’ve ran them they got kinked up and had a much shorter life than the DID’s I normally run.

Lucky to get 15 hours out of a Renthal rear on my 450. I swear they are made of butter.

R1? After 15 hours what is wrong with the chain? side to side play?

Supersprox and ert2. I'm going to try a RK next time around
