Now knowing of the drawn out process for a rider testing positive, are the powers to be happy to continue with the current drug testing for MX/SX moving forward?

Obviously they were aware of and happy for the handed down penalties before signing on the dotted line.

I don’t think they had much choice but to do two years. It would’ve looked even more dumb if it says it was a One year penalty long after the one year mark has passed.
Great point... they had to make it at least as long as it took them to deliver the verdict plus a little longer to try and decouple the timing from the decision process...

Unlike most, i don’t hate the industry for going the FIM/USADA route at least initially. Somethings look great on paper but in practice, are a disaster. Hindsight is always 20/20. What would be unforgivable in my eyes is if they don’t make a change now that they have first hand experience of what a disaster this has been. The competitive window for this sport is so tiny, taking a guy off the track for 2 yrs for testing positive for something that most acknowledge a) wouldn’t even provide a competitive advantage b) could have easily been involuntarily ingested is absured. PED’s are a real issue that needs to be taken seriously but there has to be a better, more common sense solution for managing the issue.

1. Methyhexanimine is dangerous and illegal to sell in the USA and many countries

2. Methlhexanimine is a Bronchodilator (opens blood vessels and oxygen intake, to better oxygenate blood)

This is a complete joke. Feld and AMA should be embarrassed by this debacle. I feel sorry for BT.
Taking that long to make decision is not acceptable.

Feel bad for him, but without tough sentences we'll up like boxing where Canelo gets caught juicing, and takes a few months rest and moves onto his next massive fight.

Worse still we end up like cycling.

Link isn't working for me but 2 years it totally unreasonable IMO. Especially when it takes the FIM over a year to come to that conclusion.
Yes, but the 2 years started when he failed the drug test, not when they came to the conclusion. So he was suspended 2 years from San Diego SX 2018, not 2 years from today.

I guess everyone who said he would be able to ride the nationals was wrong, where did that info come from originally?

#20 is free on Feb 20, 2020. Are you fn kidding me? That date has to be a joke, even if it really is the end date.

2 years in a sport where the average span of a good career is 10 years is INSANE. Bottom line.
And of course, there are people defending this decision... This sport is filled with so many ass kissers

The FIM desperately needs to reconsider their approach to rules if they want to exist and make any sort of money for the next decade. This whole fiasco has been unbelievably unprofessional and arcane. Absolutely pathetic.

He's known it was 4 years
That's the MANDATORY sentence

He was appealing the length

They cut it in half

They deal with and monitor 10s to 100s of thousands of athletes worldwide, you're on their clock, they're not on yours.

Someone actually down voted your logical response. Unbelievable.

Exactly. And because of that, that's why the process has been drawn out in BT's case but some people here just don't understand that.

Some of you people are so fucking stupid l don't know how you even survive. Literally.

How do you y'all have jobs and shit with this level logical acumen?

For the last time. Cheaters deserve nothing. Got it? Fuck Broc Tickle and who fucking cares how long it took because the ban is fucking backdated anyway. What exactly are you halfwits pissing and moaning about?

Every time l come on this site now l'm stunned at the level of blatant idiocy that passes for logical thought. Some of you shouldn't be allowed near dirt bikes, power tools, large equipment, women, children or basically anything.

man it is time for us to unite against the FIM AND THE AMA., has nothing to do with the offense, but the penalties passed down are not in the realm of other professional sports. 1st offense and he gets 2 years. killed js career and is going to do the same here, why do we have a European sanctioning body period. if anything we should over see our own sanctions. I mean SX is US. screw the FIM AND AMA they can kiss my ass also. I will never again sign up for a AMA race period fucking spineless wiesels

Would you happen to know how many of those 10’s to 100’s of thousands are failed tests? That’s what they are really dealing with, failures, and that doesn’t take over a year to handle. Give the man his punishment and let him choose his future from there. Thats all people wanted for Broc was a fair and reasonable due process.

Hell we had parents buying their kids way into schools discoverd a few months ago and they’ll be in court in a month or so. Their fate is pretty near and clear

Caught cheating or tested positive? It is a fine line and out of respect for Broc he tested positive.

This sport is a grind when it comes to proper preparation and with all the shit for sale it's easy to slip up and unknowingly ingest something on the banned list.

The punishment is ridiculous.

something we can do on the amateur level is not support any event that is sanctioned by the AMA, maybe we can open their eyes yo the fact we don't want the FIM in our sport. NO MORE SUPPORTING THE AMA. I know that most amateur nationals are but we have to do something to stop this. Come on DC pull your head out.
We are so tired of this b.s. this sport can grow but not with the AMA. the proof is just what it is. the most exciting sport and it still is the same place year after year. time for new leadership.

The FIM is 1 Fucked Up Deal.
Any associated with them should’ve taken note quite some time ago.
They’re an embarrassment to themselves & to the Sports they’re involved in.
It’s beyond crazy to me contracts or not that Feld still gives them a place to hang their ugly hats!!!
Thank God, MX Sports has nothing to do with them!
Drug Testing is a necessary Evil of Professional Sport.
The FIM organization is just plain Evil.

The other day on Joe Rogan podcast, he was talking about some stuff he was taking in 1988. Thats 31 years ago.

Saying you don't remember what you took a few months prior isn't going to work.

how in the hell can you be close to the industry and not understand the sentences handed down are completely out of balance. don't get personal with me, you can disagree with my statements but don't take it personal. I won't hide behind a screen name.

What he needs to do now is just get ready for 2020 then. Stay in shape and be ready for an inevitable phone call mid way through the season when someone takes a digger. If JG33 can get a phone call after sitting on his ass for months without swinging a leg over a bike then Tickle will get a call.

So you just appeal to the authority of an ungoverned body who is responsible for nothing other than it's own lifeblood and image who can fucking ruin your career over bullshit and not give you the time of day for due process in a timely manor? Within 30 days of Brock's B sample result coming back from the lab he should of had an in person hearing within 30 days. This whole time when he was in limbo he could of been sentenced already, made plans and had other income doing something else. Jesus Christ this is the dumbest comment on Vital not only for what you said but for the attitude and boast you said it with. Moto-related sucks catch me in the race shop boys.

Don’t disagree with most of your post other than the clock ‘cause I found their clock:

Well, he's over the hump. 9 months to go. I'm sure he'll be able to get enough support to get himself to the race and if he stays healthy, I'm sure there will be positions that need to be filled through out the SX season.
