lol, literally every single person you've mentioned is on a very long list we created at the onset of this show. We'll get to them if they're willing to come on. Some guys, like Larry Ward, simply don't want to talk about racing anymore. I'll still bug him to come on though.
Sincerely. Thank you for it Ping.

With the exception of Jody, I believe almost everyone above has done a podcast with Pulpmx. Search the archives.

Yeeeaaahh... but it’s not the same thing. Sorry.

I agree. Pulpmx was the original and so far still the best in my opinion. Without the Pulpmx podcast brand, and Steve bringing you and GL on as cohosts, your show would likely not even be a thing. So instead of you throwing some thinly veiled shade at Steve maybe show a little respect for paving the path that allowed you to have this podcast or just shut your pie hole and do your own thing. No need to try to shit on someone to make you appear better. Just be better and let your work speak for itself. I thought you weren’t such a snowflake?

How about you STFU and mind your own business. It's his life and he'll travel it how he likes.

Hey dipshit, our format is nothing like what any other show is doing, and that’s what I was alluding to. A ten minute phone interview isn’t close to three hours in person. If you can’t see that, we’ll, you're too stupid to help. And just so you stop sounding like such a moron, realize that DMXS Radio was doing a Moto podcast ten years before anybody else... Steve didn’t pave anything. That isn’t shade... it’s fact.

I'm not one to get in the middle of a scrap but Ping don't forget Steve has also done plenty of 60-120 minute pods with so many guys, completely separate to the Pulp Show. They are maybe not quite the same as yours, as you have a co-host and your style is different but a lot of the material is similar.

FWIW, I like both guys and both styles and I am happy to have more selection in the Moto podcast world. Everybody love everybody!

I get it. But interviews aren’t the same when they’re not in person... it’s why every largely successful podcast or interview has the guest in the room with them. It’s far more candid and personal. We are just going to do our thing... if you want to tune in, we’d love to have you.

Yeah David I've been tuning in since episode 1. I really like the varied guests, and getting guys like Bones and Jonny Campbell is cool because it totally expands my knowledge base. I didn't know much about Baja other than what I read in Dirt Bike as a kid, for example. Keep up the good work!

I do find it interesting that there seems to be some competitive spirit out there with the whole podcast thing. I mean at the end of the day it will come down to supply and demand, and you guys are all competing for sponsorship from the same market effectively. So of course there will be some competition and of course egos will come into the picture but I hope when you see each other at the races you just remember to be buddies.

Honestly man, I’m just having fun learning about these guys the same as you. I knew nothing about Johnny campbell! And even guys I know well, like Jimmy Button, I learn things I didn’t know. It’s beem super fun. I understand there is competition for dollars and views, and this is a competitive crowd, but just going to do my thing. I don’t have any issues with any of the other shows or their hosts. It seems like the die-hard fans of Steve’s show are angry that there are other options now and they take digs whenever they can. Like I said... I’m just going to keep doing my thing. I appreciate all of you guys who watch and enjoy the shows.

Ping I think there are far , far greater numbers of fans of you and GL ‘s show than detractors......

It’s serious , it’s funny , it’s relaxed , it’s informative , and the conversations are fluid .

I know you have a great audience down under , and it grows by the week .

Watched every episode , and look forward to many more !

And no ,I’m not pings mother!

I listen to Pulp and watch Whiskey Throttle, really like both but doubt that JButton would have opened up as much with Pulp due to them having ‘guest segments’ with limited times. To me they are TOTALLY different, maybe it’s the setting, maybe because you have a live audience but I really do not know OR care!!

To me co-hosts are very important, GL works because he is a screw up AND he has the world experience. Steve’s best co-host is JakeW as he just says it like it is and can be seriously funny.

It would be a weird thing but why not try and get Steve on??

I'd like to hear Tortelli/Albee/Everts. They had some epic battles, different backgrounds and American experiences.

And some of the forgotten early SX tiddler champs. Jimmy Gaddis. Ty Davis. Eddie Warren. Todd DeHoop. Ron Tichenor. Willie Surrat.

Mike Bell, Donnie Hansen and the Bomber would be cool to talk about early 80s also... the sport was in a weird transition there and they were up against Bob.

I thought DMXS was around before Pulp wasn’t it? Eh? I FRIKKIN LOVE DMXS!! I could be wrong..am I? I’d say Whiskey Throttle has a vibe that’s more similar to that than Pulp.. you know. Just better etc as far as I can tell ,

Hey dipshit (just keepin it classy like you Ping),

Steve was the first podcast to do the deep dive into the history of the icons of our sport. These were 1-2hr long podcasts and some were 2 parts. DMXS was first to market and The Pulpmx show is loosely based off their show. However, The Steve Matthes Show came before The Pulpmx Show and this is the podcast style that you’re now copying with your own spin. So yes, Steve did pave the way for you and Steve did give you and GL the co host chair that, I would argue, gave you your inspiration to do your own podcast. Sure your format is just enough different to be new but it’s not like the long deep dive interview is all new. Just go check the Steve Matthes Show archives.

And apologizes for assuming you were throwing shade his way. Sometimes internet tone is hard to decipher. Have a great day Ping.

I love the Whiskey Throttle show, but I really cant think of anyone in the moto industry that I would want less to hear talk for 4 hours than Jody. The guy is the moto version of those Washington DC reporters who think they are the story.

I'll counter and say that Jody would be the moto guy after DeCoster that I'd want to hear a long truly-in-depth interview with. Mitch rounds out the podium. Like him or not, Jody has been around the sport for a very long time, is intelligent, well spoken, and probably has the verbal keys to a whole graveyard of MX stories. IF he opens up, an interview with Jody could be epic.

For those of us who have been around MX since the 70s, it’s easy to see Jody is one of the most significant figures in the sport. Can you even imagine riding all the bikes he has ridden?!
