Millennial takeout.

Why do it half assed though and also jeopardize your knee in the right turn contact?

It's racing...for a championship. Nuff said. Chase should probably be glad he wasn't racing against someone like Jason Anderson, Justin Barcia or Zach Osborne. Any one of them three would have punted his @$$ into the cheap seats.

Forkner ran wide into Sexton’s front wheel off the start and then the move before the finish line. I’m sure Chase was pissed and from his view thought Forkner did try to take him out. Coming out of the first turn it sure looked like Forkner tried to take out his front wheel. Before the finish line was an aggressive move. I’d bet Sexton rewatched the move before the finish line and changed his view of it.
You make valid points. I would like to add that I’m surprised that Sexton didn’t expect any of this - wounded animals are dangerous. Chalk his surprise/indignation to youth and inexperience.

Disclaimer: I know Forkner isn’t an animal - but it’s apropos - it was do or die for AF.

Vitards start crying anytime two riders touch. You can always bet on it.

So being consistent and highly respected riders who make (made in Windhams case) very good money to ride dirt bikes is a bad thing? I mean, seriously, have you ever seen Windhams pad? Do you think it sucks to be him? Do you think it sucks to be Seely or any other top 10 guy making good money to race? My goodness man. They’re phenomenal riders who are a part of very few people to make a good living at this sport.

It didn't look like an intentional takeout. It was an aggressive move that most likely dug a little deeper than AF intended. It happens. I'm a fan of both of them and love seeing more aggressive racing. I definitely don't think Austin was trying to destroy himself or Chase. I dont know, I've been taken out by guys at the track who have came by and acknowledged it and vice-versa. Accidents happen, especially when it's high speed and high stakes. Either way, Chase and Austin are both badass.

I found the commentary team so far up fokners ass particularly RC as they are both monster and fox.
Sexton has had an awesome season... you have to stay on the bike to win championships and that’s what sexton has done ... on the pass, had another look not much in it just some good ol fashion outa the way ,, Sexton later admitted he ran a little wide on that turn

It seemed like bad strategy to me.

Chase was probably willing to be courteous around Forkner, knowing he had a bad knee. But once Forkner took shots at Chase, then that would open Chase up to being aggressive with Forkner if needed.

But Forkner aggravated the injury on his own before anything else could happen.

You probably find if Forkner just concentrated on his own race with the view to FINISH in the best points position, It would have ended up in a much smarter championship move than trying a do or die take out the competition strategy that ended in 0 points.

Love all the experts in here that know what to say and think after winning you first 250 SX main that started out with your main rival running it into you.

Eh personally I don’t like forkner much. I was cheering for him Bc of the circumstance tho. This didn’t hurt him tho. Was when he tried to square the turn up and launch the double.. don’t know why he did that

Yeah looks like he was trying to clean his front end. I’m fine with it tho that was realistically his only shot of beating Sexton straight up with his knee injury.

Got to flip the situation around, if that was Chase that sent it into Austin like that the internet would of exploded with people hating on Chase for sending it into someone who's injured etc. Not the dirtiest nor the cleanest pass, but i do think Austin was hoping chase would turn down into him and for Chase to go down so it helps his situation a little more.

IMO, Chase set the tone of the night for those two with his pass in the heat.
I know it isn't anything overtly dirty, however, you can obviously see the way he squared the corner and tried to place his rear wheel into Forker's front. Racing is racing and I'm fine with everything but I can absolutely understand if AF saw this as a failed attempt to sweep his bad leg in the heat and came into the main fired up to give Sexton the fight he seemed to want.

Just watch the first lap of their heat and tell me it wasn't at least slightly aggressive. I'm not saying it was dirty, cheap or anything of the sort. I'm just saying how I could very easily understand if Forker interpreted this pass as the M.O. for those two on the night. If Forkner didn't slam his breaks then it would have mirrored the pass Grant pulled on a Mike Alessi with a similar knee injury in outdoors in I believe 2009.

I'm a racer and if I was nursing a left knee injury and I had pucker my butthole and slam on the breaks to avoid my main title combatant from sweeping my front wheel in the heat race you bet your ass I'd be all over his front wheel with my rear from the moment the gate dropped for the main..

First of all it's "brakes"

Second that was a standard cut lower and take the line away move.

Jesus Christ man, I'm not saying it wasn't. If you ever raced you might be able to understand the nuances that play through a rider's head during a race, especially one who was nursing an injury. Racers often make mountains out of molehills when in the heat of the moment, especially when it is with someone who is your main rival.

Let me reiterate once more because it seems you skim through my post just to find grammatical errors: I'm not saying anything about the move was wrong. I'm just trying to show you my opinion of what might have pissed Forker off and gave him a bit more incentive to ride the way he did in the main ffs

100% correct. If you are ok with chase's pass you better be ok with Austin's

Was there uproar like this when Anderson and Seely were going after each other every week? JA was the more aggressive and he won the championship. That said, there's always a fine line and I don't remeber anything in the Anderson/Seely days that was overly 'dirty'.

The brakes thing is a pet peeves of mine.

I think Austin would have done what he did in the main because the opportunity was there and he took it, and it wasn't really a take-out to begin with. Austin was probably more pissed about going backwards in the heat race (which he isn't used to doing) than the move Sexton pulled.

Sorry, had too!

And I know it should be to, that’s one of my pet peeves.

On the subject, I agree with Pops.

I see your side. To me, I think Austin was content with moving backward in the heat because he only needed a top 9. I think he was yielding positions to riders he knew would be pointless to race hard in the heat, the biggest one being Sexton. I think he did what he had to do in the main to stack the deck as close to in his hands as he could.

I have nothing against what either of those dudes did. In fact, I love it when they show that much passion and pride to try and get a title they have worked incredibly hard to get. I just personally think it's a cheap move for Sexton to claim Austin was trying to take him out when Forkner's perspective of the night very well could have been the same regarding Sexton.

It's "too" in this context Tongue

Sucks that Forkner had to pull off track. I think Forkner and Sexton both are all-time talents, and we will talk about this season many times in the future when their rivalry really takes off in the pro ranks.

Slightly aggressive ? Every rider should be riding “slightly aggressive” at all times at the very least that are fighting for a championship !! He never even touched him. Forkner should have expected nothing less. And Sexton the same. 2 racers that want to win a championship. That’s all ?
