I don't see the formidable mental fire and strength in Tomac that we saw in previous superstars. He seems to have some focus liabilities.

Should be a great year. It will be very competitive behind Eli who's gonna crush everyone

Anderson and Webb are not mega talented SX Champions?
Before that, Dungey and Villopoto were "what went wrong" for everyone, not just Tomac.

He appears to be enjoying racing again. He even styled it across the finish line, albeit not in 1st. I'd be concerned in races to come.

He is a choker. He does ride a little dirty but because a bunch of you love the taste of his nuts there is rarely an honest assessment of him.

He lost me when he choked at MXON on his 250 and cost us the title. But y'all do you and oeep thinking he walks on water. It's hilarious.

Tomac has been anointed by the fans as the next heir to the SX/MX Throne but the reality is he is just not good enough.
He is not in the same category as RC ,Poto,Dungey and Mcgrath. The racing public wants him to dominate but the reality is he can't attain that level.
Just when I KNEW I had met the dumbest person on the planet already, you two show up. Surely you two are it and there can’t possibly be anyone left other than a fence post.

Cant handle the pressure. Either he runs away with the title, or he chokes in the final rounds. It's been his MO his entire career.
Both his outdoor championships have gone down to the last Moro and he pulled them off

That's a narrative that's been pushed by quite a few people on here since 2017 Vegas, I guess some people still have PTSD from Tomac block passing Dungey a few times.

I don't understand how Cooper came out of the blue and took this title from Tomac,
Cooper lead most of the season, it was his to lose.
He is a past SX light champ just like Tomac, there was no " out of the blue or taking".

He is just a Douch who will probably win a title.

Everyone talks like he's about to retire. He's still got at least a few more seasons in him. It's not over till the fat lady sings. If he retires before winning an SX title I think it'll be because he feels fulfilled in his career/is over it. But I don't see that happening while he still has the speed to win an SX title still. I think we will be watching Eli for a while unless injuries start racking up or he starts a family sometime soon. He obviously (like everyone out there) still wants to win.

What went wrong? It's about Eli's bad days. This is a points sport as we all know. A bad race is one thing. Having 2 or 3 bad races in a row while your competitor is winning or on the podium is devastating both mentally and points wise. Riders that manage to limit the damage and stay off the ground will reap the reward for the effort. Eli is a great racer and has unbelievable skills. I know he wants consistency but in this sport it's easier said than done for various reasons. Most recently Anderson, Dungey, Villopoto... and now web(?) have all managed (Baker program?) to pull that off. This sport can be very cruel. Props to Eli for some great racing this year! Everyone wanted a fresh start and a new SX Champion. Well, we're about to get one.
