Hill is ready for the outdoors so he says

Edited Date/Time 5/2/2019 7:21am
From RacerX:

JGR/Yoshimura Suzuki’s Justin Hill on outdoors
Justin Hill: I’m actually really motivated for outdoors this year. I usually have a good indoor season, so it’s not like I don’t care, but the risk/reward situation isn’t usually there for me outdoors. If I have had a good indoor season, then I’ve made bonuses, I’ve had good results, the outdoors is a way for me to keep riding and keep sharp. This year I’m really motivated for the 12-round series, though. Before Nashville I had already started outdoor testing, then I hurt my back and that set me back for about two weeks. Now, I’ve been pounding 40s. I went back to Oregon and rode my outdoor track on a stock bike. You know how that suspension is going hard on a rough track—I think I’m in pretty good shape. Even when I was hurt I was able to do the spin bike and get the cardio in. So I think it’s going to be good.

Thoughts?

He sure doesn’t look in good shape to me. Hope he has a good run but I’ve got my doubts.

Two rounds in to outdoors he will tell us he’s ready for SX 2020. He’s going to get smoked and I doubt we see him anywhere inside the top ten after the first 10 minutes of each moto.

Hell I wouldn’t be surprised to see Keefer beat him a moto , Don’t know what pieces of the puzzle is missing with that kid but definitely missing some.

Words from him mean nothing at this point. Maybe he’s right but I’ll wait and check the scoresheet for proof.

"Just barely enough effort" Justin finally admits what we all knew. How anyone can still be a fan of this guy is beyond me. Pathetic.

Must make teams/sponsors feel great to know he hasn’t taken outdoors seriously or how he approached it. Do good/decent in supercross, lay up when it comes motocross.

"I’ve made bonuses, I’ve had good results"

i legit can't believe he said that in an interview. thats the definition of "just sending it in".

Did I really just read that? Horrible attitude. I say he doesn't make it past 6 rounds outdoors especially if he has already signed a deal for next year.

Am I the only one who appreciates the honesty?

I think he's missed his opportunity to shine this year, unless he does it next SX round.

Would like to be wrong.

He’s pudgy and distracted

In other words, "I didn't get any bonuses in supercross, so I trained really hard for the last week, and I'm ready for the nationals, because I want more money."

No you're not the only one. I love when riders are honest.

The thing with Hill is that people are tired of him and his antics. The guy doesn't take this seriously, we were all supposed to see how amazing he would be on the 450. He basically threw 2018 in the bin and cruised around the track with the number 1 plate waiting for 2019 and his first go at the 450 series. When you do that, the least everyone would expect of you is 100% effort.

But to be fair. Some of the "blame pie" has to be handed to JGR and JBone. The fact that they were not able to manage Hill after what happened in 2018 and make sure he actually put in the effort in the offseason is not good enough in my opinion.

The only people he's beating are privateers. He's done. He will be watching from the stands in 2019 or will be on Team Moto XXX/LBZ/Yamaha of Compton.

No effing idea and I seriously doubt he is anywhere near the level of fitness as Tomac, Roczen and the Baker crowd.

It is 2019 and so far he has been on the track.

But I know you meant 2020.

Ready for the outdoors, and ready to do well at the outdoors are two entirely different things.

That being said......I’m ready to win the lottery!

I'll keep saying it kick that poor excuse for a rider to the kurb. I'd rather see Decotis on that bike Hill does not deserve that ride.

I'm convinced
Myself as well.......convinced he's gonna get his ass handed to him outdoors. Also convinced he will more than likely be a singer/privateer next year.

So he basically said he knows he won't get resigned again. Now he is going to have 1 great ride to try to impress someone and get a deal for next year, once that's set, he will mail it.

This antic won't work anymore, nobody will be willing to take a bet on him.

Said he was riding at his folks place last week. I went past his folks place several times last week, and it didn't look like anyone had been on that track for a long time. Totally over grown with grass.
Unless, there is a different track at his folks place that can't be seen from the road.?

Well I was a little surprised to read what he said in that interview-its one thing for people to suspect that this was his state of mind, quite another to actually confirm it. I just don't see how this helped his cause is all.
