Tomac took Baggets leap off the wall to the next level when he took the lead. I was hoping someone got a shot of it but I can't find one.

That was huge but I still think Anderson's wall leap into the sand whoops (Vegas was it?) takes the cake.

Baggett sent it just as far several times before tomac and every tomac fan is posting videos on Instagram of his “giant leap”. Human bias is a funny thing.

Guess it would have been "Baggett's giant leap" if he'd have won.

James leap over the same wall is the winner. What amazes me is how well the suspension does. Inwould break something. Me or the bike.

Did you read what he wrote, or simply comment based off of the thread title?

I don't know that Eli jumped any further than Bagget had, but the OP did claim Bagget's leap in the first sentence.

I can't believe I'm responding.

If Baggett had jumped as far as Tomac the lap that Tomac jumped further, this thread wouldn't exist.. what I dont understand is why the existence of this thread is confusing or upsetting you. Everything has to be fanboys or butthurt I guess.

Maybe you could post a picture of Baggett sailing as far as Tomac did in the above picture? So far no evidence has been shown that he "sent it just as far", and watching on TV it did look like Tomac indeed jumped further than anyone previously.

It sure seemed to me like Eli went about 50% farther when he made his move maybe not.

Right on. The whole point of my thread was that It was cool as heck and I was hoping someone had a picture of it and spojetski uploaded it for my lazy ass Wink

The Lap before Eli Did this big launch the roles were reversed and Bagget did it and Tomac didn't, knowing that i thought some of the social media responses i saw seemed silly, but whatever, im guessing they both knew the bikes couldn't take that very many times , im thinking if they had kept doing that they would have broken spokes or bent rims or broke something?
Anyway my opinion is they bothed jumped close to the same distance because they both totally launched it , it was just on different laps than each other.

Bagget didn’t jump it on the lap Tomac passed him. He shorted it like everyone else . Go ahead. Rewatch it for yourself. Here’s a screenshot from bagget on lap 1.

Ok, I pick up what you're putting down. In the excitement of the race, Tomac jumping it for the pass made it look/feel much more epic than when Baggett did it, IMO. I think that's what led to this current perception of "Tomac's Giant Leap".

It does seem that Baggett jumped just as far. I also believe he was the first to start leaping it, and I agree with Tarz483 that the guys probably didn't want to do that every lap.

Yeah man, that’s exactly what I was saying. It was really exciting that first 5 minutes.

When Tomac saw Blake hit it I could hear him mumbling, "C'mon man, really??? Really?!?!?!". Too funny. Amazing feat by both men as they are able to defy the laws of physics and live to talk about it. Just amazing.

so much skill and guts for both guys.. it is ironic that another thread says he needs time to get comfy on the 19,. I don't think you do that without confidence in your bike . 3 wins too.Whistling

I'm guessing I couldn't pull that off on my CRF450X with stock suspension?
