Freeriding > Racing all day.

Don't get me wrong, I love racing. But freeriding will always be more special and fun to me. It's also easier for the casual fan/rider to relate to freeriding compared to racing.

All that said, I don't care if you are Eli Tomac or Bubba from Alabama just learning how to ride, no one should be shitting on anyone for skill level. We have a common love for this sport and should all share that together no matter how good or bad we are at riding. Sounds like AJ might have forgotten that.

Growing up I would have done anything to race proffesionally and I’d still do it. I busted my ass everyday in college playing baseball and hated it. But if you gave me the opportunity to be Axel Hodges or a pro racer I’d take the first one. Not only do you get away with not having to perform at as high of a level, as a social media brand ambassador you can promote your companies doing anything. For example, he can promote Spy while snowboarding, with his sunglasses, or on a bike. So much freedom and so many opportunities with that platform. I understand pro riders have goggle companies too but how many of them can go snowboard during SX season if they suddenly feel like it? Buttery is essentially doing the same thing right? Impossible to knock that kind of fun.

As a New Englander I root for all the NE guys. If any of them don’t make a main I then check the lcq for them. Years ago he wasn’t happy when Barcia posted something about him talking a lot for someone who rode back of pack or something like that. Can’t find it but I thought it was Twitter. Then years later he does similar thing.

Alright, after going ahead and reading a ton of the comments on Buttery's and AJ's IGs.... WOW.

The defending of fundamentals just doesn’t make sense to me. He is no goon and so many people watch those videos, many people who will never be pro, didnt start riding at 5-6, or don’t even have a dirt bike. Plus you know the kids are all over the deegan boys channel anyway, maybe that will tick his “doesnt suck at riding dirt bikes” box.
