Back to the topic, I would hope any rider seeing the position Ronnie was in would stop long enough to help him get out from under the spinning rear wheel.

I have been following this thread and I still do not know why it exists. Is there a legion of Tomac haters that need proved wrong, is his character in question, I don't know.

What is it?

In my humble opinion, it’s not the rider people hate, it’s the FAN BOYZ who ruin things.

Lol @ ppl on Vital thinking they know Tomacs personality because of what they see him say when he has a mic shoved in his face 5 seconds after a race or a post race interview. How much are you really going to get from “yea I charged late and won the race”... That has no bearing on the guy away from mx at home with his buddies or family.

You spent 20-30 mins writing out a message on THIS topic? Out of all the different topics on here this is the one you felt worthy of 30 mins of your time? How many people do you think took the time to read that, because I’m not going to lie I didn’t.

You know what, it's the fans who are far more annoying than the rider. I'll root for just about anybody at anytime on any given day. It really depends on the circumstances.

And to be honest Tomac doesn't really have much of a "personality". I'll tell you who does, that's Plessinger. There are others who also have it, but Marv, Tomac, even Anderson, I don't consider to have much personality.

And I'll judge someone by what they do when they do it. And call them out when I think it's BS. Nobody is perfect. But fans... Well fans are just blinded by their undying devotion to a person for some reason. And it makes them so very annoying. I'll not like someone almost because their fans get on my nerves so bad, and Tomac seems to have alot of these fans. I mean the fact that Dungey was even dragged into this discussion proves how incredibly butt hurt people are, even though they would say it was the other group that was.

When Eli is on his game, it's great. To watch someone achieve something so great. To ride like that is truly incredible and to witness greatness, you certainly feel humbled. Stewart was like that, it was awesome, all those top guys. Dungey included. But I'm not so delusional to think these guys do no wrong. The fact that Tomac did a really great thing here on the clip, does not mean he didn't act like a baby and has been a hypocrite at times. People are all different. we grow and learn. He's human. But he has some bad personality traits as well. And hypocrisy is a pretty bad one. Does this balance that out...I don't know, but I still like to see him ride. when he's on it, Its on another level to watch him come from the back to pass everyone.

It's like, I also like Appetite for Destruction, but think Axl Rose is a total D-bag. Still like to listen to the album and really consider it one of the best rock records, well, ever. But Axl isn't cool. At all Eddie Van Halen, brilliant, but at times, has been full of himself. I do consider humility to be a pretty great trait. And some greats have that.

People often say wide receivers are cocky and full of them selves, champions have to have that. Terrell Owens, and the like, then I say look at Jerry Rice, pretty humble, and probably the greatest. Or even Joe Montana, one of the greatest QB's ever. So no, champions do not need to be assholes. There is a difference between confidence and cockiness ,and or arrogance.

Now back to the old b.s. manufactures do not spend Millions for silver. Team tactics are and always have been around. If you have an advantage and use it makes you smart. To pretend any thing else is silly. There are different kinds of pride, the kind of pride you take in your work and wanting to do good, and foolish pride. And it's foolish pride that wouldn't have used that advantage. And I don't think Eli is so foolish as to be like, "well by God I'm not going to do that " obviously or he wouldn't have passed at Monster Cup. He would have pointed Joey onward and said NO!! let's race!

What the KTM camp did was handle it poorly, but the Kawi boys handled it even worse. And went on about it. And the fans took it next level. Again Manufactures do not spend Millions and Millions for silver. Kawi would have done the same thing period, Grant, Eli, Kawi, KTM, every one knows it. Except for Eli fans for some reason. Look If your trying to drive a bunch of screws into a hard piece of wood, and the only things around were a drill with the proper bits, or a screwdriver, are you going to use the screwdriver because drills are for pussys? Does your manhood depend on not using the drill? Your not a man if you pick up that drill!! Work smarter not harder. I'm sure everyone has herd that, right? If you got to drive them all day, would it not make sense to use the drill? Your getting paid by the hour, I bet your boss is gonna get mad if you didn't use the drill, it may be your last day on the job, especially if you act like he's an idiot, because drills are for pussys. Or if you get paid by the job, don't you want to Finnish the job quicker to move on to the next job? Or will pride keep you broke? You are going to use the advantage, face it. It's the smart thing to do, especially if you want to succeed at what you do. And if your job is winning champhips, that's what you do. That's what the factories hire you for, not for your ego to get in the way.

With Millions on the line and a championship, do you think if the roles were reversed Kawi would have done anything different? Absolutely not. Case in point MC. And yes, the race was a one off, which means theres not as much at stake, no championship at stake, they did it there. Kawi allowed it. Which just means with everything on the line, repeat, everything on the line, you bet your sweet ass the Kawi team is going to take any advantage they can get. The fact that there is a championship on the line, gives them more of a reason. It's silly to think the other way around. They want a championship probably close to at all cost.

Also I'm for team tactics, that being said, I personally think the bottle necking of the race was brilliant, it was a great strategy. But you can't root for that and call the other b.s. that is hypocritical. Was Eli overly aggressive at times... maybe once that I saw, and it's debatable. Again Sure the KTM boys handled poorly, but Eli acted like a baby. Straight up. It's like get over it.

Eli is great, but has some growing up to do. He acts like a spoiled brat at times. Yes he did something incredibly cool in the clip above, but does that mean he didn't act like a baby... hell no. So obviously hes got some good in him, Only time will tell what kind of champion he truly turns out to be. Dungey was great. Villapoto was great. Stewart, all different, all great.

So in the mean time, please Shut up, and don't be delusional fan.if you want to post something that Tomac did that was great, awesome, do it, praise it, but leave everyone else out of it, otherwise your the fan boy. And I'm sure someone will say something, and call me a name. Just like lil Wayne fans thought he was the greatest guitar player at one time. The next Hendrix they said. Disagree, or say he needs lessons, and you just don't understand him, or his art. And your an idiot

I wanna see what retired Tomac is like in a few years. I hope he doesn't disappear and instead ends up like RV has, from an emotionless robot during his racing days to a proper lad hanging out at the races, ripping 2 strokes and smahsing beers on the podium. That would be amazing. Can definitely see Roczen taking this path.

But not for a long time yet. Still plenty of years of good racing ahead first.

Not going to lie, I got nothing against Pezwizzel but I only made it to midway of the 3rd paragraph. 2.5 out of 12 ain't bad, right?

Agreed Roczen is gonna be an animal in retirement. Hopefully he stays in the US, seems like he will. Dungey has loosened up a bit too though not so much yet, but it took RV a few years of walking away completely to finally find his rightful spot in the sport in retirement.

Side note I love hearing different expressions from around the world describe things perfect. Im from Boston so Ive never heard “proper lad” before, but thats exactly what he is now haha. I get the feeling this forum is a lot more international than we think.

Momma Lucia people. It's a dude that rides dirt bikes for a living. Here's a pinch of advice. Get a girlfriend, boyfriend or whatever you're in to. Just enjoy the racing. Who gives a shit how many hands they shake or babies they kiss?
