They are not for sale. At least I’ve never seen then for them.

2016-2018 KTM/Husky 450’s. I think the 250/350 use a different mount so I’ll have to check on that.

Why? I think as a stressed part of your frame you would need to replace as a wear item on a regular basis. Big money.

Seems to me like nobody making them is a sign they probably don't work very good....but I ain't no rocket surgeon.

We will have them in March.

The brand is CDG & we'll have these for the '18 450 Rockstar & Factory Editions and '19 450 FC/FX & SX-F/XC-F production bikes in late March.

We start testing this month after San Diego.

Are they going to be made for the 16-18 bikes also? I have a rockstar edition husky but I also have a 15.5 and a 18 that I want them for. I contacted a guy that builds high end carbon fiber parts for cars and he said he could make them but he would need to do 10 sets to make it feasible.

The KTM factory teams use carbon engine mounts made by Akrapovic (alongside with some other carbon goodies like skidplates, chainguides..etc.)
These products are only made for them and not for public sale..

These products are only made for them and not for public sale..
Cooper, Bagget, Musquin, Shane. All of them uses aluminum, even for supercross.
Andersson uses carbon but it could also be related to him running a 2017/18 header setup. Deano runs it to, but again, Husky has a smoother chassi compared to KTM so not really a good comparison.

2015.5 and 2016 bikes have steel mounts. 17-18 are aluminum. If your bike is a 15.5-16 yes you will save over 1lb.

Those little triangle pieces of steel hardly weigh anything. My guess would be the carbon mounts are more for flex characteristics than weight reduction.

I drag race my bikes primarily and don’t do as much motocross like I used to. We race for anywhere between $100-$5000 and up a pass depending on if it’s 300ft dirt race or 1/8 mile asphalt. The lighter you can make a bike the faster it will be in a straight line period. If I can save 1lb on engine mounts then I’m going to.

Pretty sure they are slightly different but the steel mounts on my 250sx weigh like 4oz each.

Yes they will be lighter, but you’re going to get increased ridigity and more vibration. That sounds worth it for a minor weight saving....

Whats not worth it to you might be worth it to me and several others. What kind of bike do you ride? Increase rigidity? Yes possibly depending on design. Increased vibration? Nope the opposite.

Had a 250 Pro looking for them last year and talked to TeamGreen about them.

Motor mount brackets are Very complicated to make them right like he will do!

This got me thinking. On face value yes CF would be stiffer, more rigid. But from what I’m finding on the internet it depends on the type of CF as to how much more rigid and also the comparisons are by weight (an equal weight CF engine mount would be roughly twice the size/thickness of Aluminum).

A company like CMT claims MORE flexibility over aluminum, which could be nice on a stiff chassis like Honda. The thickness could be less than stock, so this seems possible.
