Is the new Astars boot that bad then?, was going to give them a go for this year.... But did read some bad reports mainly saying bloody stiff and won't break in..... Been a long term SG12 man & they have lasted years!, but just wanted a boot with a bit more feel.

the screws for my sg12 buckles come loose all the time. id say thats worst then getting smashed into and one breaking.

After a dozen or so sets of Astars for me and the kids I went looking elsewhere. SG12's felt a little narrow, Instincts felt a little short. Went up a size in Instincts and they seem pretty comfy.
Newmann, you really need to try the latest stuff from astars. They had some of the worst buckles for sure but about 5 years ago they changed the design and are probably the best buckles out.

I agree. I went from instincts to tech 7 this past year and the buckles are great.

Its been a while since I've read through one of the dumbest threads on here, but the comments bashing the OP are priceless.

PS Alpinestars buckles come undone when I ride fast...and they aren't junk. Its a buckle, its not supposed to be permanent when you latch it. Its as if all of AC92's buckles unlatched and his boot fell off his foot. Dumbgeon.
