Scantly clad girls in leather is hardly the issue. Look at UFC or Boxing ring girls....doesn't seem to hurt their numbers. The program was pretty boring last night to be honest. I fell asleep before the semi's. A fuck ton of commercials plus a 250 class with no exciting riders (minus AC) plus a wet, rained out track made for a pretty boring start to the season. Maybe not have an open stadium be the first race of the season. A muddy/wet Supercross race is boring as hell. Highly doubt NBCSN gained any new Supercross viewers last night.

Yes, sex sells. Marketing SX as a massive bro-down might be fine with you and me personally, but on a larger scale, it hurts the sport by limiting its appeal. If we want to grow the sport and get more kids on dirt bikes, it helps to get the whole family on board, and enjoying the sport. Moms and sisters should be out there, too...whether it's helping to raise and support a future MX/SX star, or simply buying tickets to races.

The sports lack of growth has NOTHING to do with the Monster/Redbull/Rockstar girls.In fact I'd argue the sport was doing better in the mid to late 2000's when they were all running around half naked. Does that mean correlation equals causation? Nope. (btw the sports lack of growth has shown to be from higher costs of ownership, parts, racing, and lower general income when inflation is taken into account).

Also all those mom's out there with their little kids? This is what they were doing before junior come along

Think of it this way. When your chick is watching some Kardashians/Housewives/whatever crap, you immediately tune out. Why? Bc you know that those shows aren't for you. They weren't made with you in mind, and have absolutely 0% content you'd be interested in seeing as a dude.

Now flip the situation. You're the average chick, and your dude is watching SX. Lots of slow shots panning over sexy babes winking at the camera. Immediately, you assume this show wasn't made with you in mind and has absolutely 0% content you'd be interested in seeing as a woman.

Obviously, someone who is paid to notice these things has decided that the demographics are skewed too heavily toward male viewership, and is trying to fix that.

The girls are a 'nice to have' marketing tool for brands not a 'must have'. They have nothing to do with growth or limitation of this sport.... Reminds me of stupid guys writing "I am not gonna subscribe to your Magazin if You keep printing the O'neal Bikini Girl adds..." hahah those kinda reactions always have been a joke and always will. I am actually at a loss for words as to how you think Dianna Dahlgren has had any impact at all on our sport. She was gone just as fast as she arrived and wasn't the first or the last miss supercross.

Look. I personally enjoy looking at beautiful women. It goes without saying most of us do. But this isn't about ME or YOU personally. It's about broadening the appeal of the sport as a whole.

You and I will watch the sport no matter what bc we enjoy the racing. Toning down the bro shit isn't going to hurt us. We still have teh intrewebz for pr0n.
