just an example of what a 450 cc 2017-2019 crf 450 can do .i ran on 2 diferent dynos the higher numbers are from my dyno which was always consistent with fmfs dyno and the lower on a stingy dyno jet showing a 2018 stocker around 53 hp this is by no means a mx bike theses engines are used for flat track racing .

I had Hamp build me a motor back in '04- the thing was a rocket!! Not many tuners in this neck of the woods know more, or even as much as Ron when it comes to making power.

yes i have built other manufactures. Hondas end pivot rocker has alowed me to desighn new cam lobes to acheive power like this im working on the 2019 Kaw 450 curently i had the head before the bike was released and got all the geometry and information to desighn new lobes for them and i have developed a head with revized porting .im also working on the 2019 KTM 450 .

Great work.

Is the power delivery efficient on a mx track too ?

Based on the curves I think it would, so it would be very interesting to make a test with riders of different levels to make a little table like below.

And what is the budget for such a power ? (cost of mods & maintenance requirements?)

Big thing with flat track is the tq curve, that thing has a serious steady curve, probably not the best for mx, it would be a handfull.

The hole at 5500 is also interesting, a lot more air going in looking at the air/fuel ratio...is that for sound/emission testing or some other reason?

the flatter the better you dont want a spike in the power when your leaned over @ 80 mph and trying to feed it throttle .

The '19 450 Kawi seems bad fast for a stock bike.

I had a 2004 CRF450 with Ron Hamps headwork, valves and springs, plus his own custom exhaust made from a Yosh header and Supertrapp silencer, plus a 13.5:1 piston and carb tuning....it was a bit loud. They ALWAYS knew you were coming up on them.

It was an MX beast. Holeshots? Check. You had to be in great shape because at the end of a hot moto that thing would yank you around the track if you let it.

I would like to see what the Estenson team is getting out of their Yamahas. Kolby’s looked like the fastest bike at the miles.

Yamaha came to colorado to Dyno there snow bikes before Xgames last year and where up in the 90 H.P range. Impressive.
