Awful quality but me (same age as my number) in 1979 on a Suzuki RM80, at Antler Lake just outside of Edmonton. Must be either early season or late season given that everything is brown and the trees have no leaves. Antler Lake was a fixture on the Canadian National circuit for decades but back in the heyday we used to have other provincial level races there throughout the season.

After school fun. Note the high tech gear.....Levi cords, vans, windbreaker, no gloves. Simple times.

My little brother in 1984. Open face Nava helmet and custom pants and jersey by Walla Andrew. My brother got off the RM50 to the YZ60 such a big leap in technology little did we realise that at the end of 84 the little Yam 60 would be wiped off the planet by the KX60. Once on the KX60 at start of 1985 he was on another level.

This was the R&D bike that they made an actual reed valve intake for the cylinder instead of the “power reed” induction they came with stock. Supposed to have been a rocket.

Didn't the US get them in 83-84 & Europe 84-85? At the time we didn't realise how rare it was gonna be, you never do I suppose. That picture is from approximately 1989.

Group photo from a Lance Moorewood MX school at Sandhill Ranch in '84. Me on the right and only a few years ago I found out that the #28 on the left is the infamous O/C Scottie.

I understand this bike was the prototype engine used to create what was the 89 to current RM bottom end. Dean is a genius......

For all the Mike LaRocco fans out there....here is a blast from the past circa 1982, with an eleven year old Mike (sporting 8N and Hanna lightning bolts) chasing another Indiana legend fast boy Derrick Roe (17N) in the Mini Junior class. Growing up in Indiana, it was amazing to watch these two tear it up on their YZ60's and 80's like no other! As we all know, Mike went on to have an amazing profession career, and is an AMA Hall of Fame inductee. Derrick Roe was actually as fast (at times even faster) as Mike and went on to be a Team Green Support rider in the late 80's, He had lights of a 5th overall at the 1988 Kenworthy National in the 125 class, and many top ten finishes in 125 Supercross. He unfortunately had injuries and other set backs that made him hang it up in 1990's. Credit to friend Danny Umbarger on the pic.
