For all the Mike LaRocco fans out there....here is a blast from the past circa 1982, with an eleven year old Mike (sporting 8N and Hanna lightning bolts) chasing another Indiana legend fast boy Derrick Roe (17N) in the Mini Junior class. Growing up in Indiana, it was amazing to watch these two tear it up on their YZ60's and 80's like no other! As we all know, Mike went on to have an amazing profession career, and is an AMA Hall of Fame inductee. Derrick Roe was actually as fast (at times even faster) as Mike and went on to be a Team Green Support rider in the late 80's, He had lights of a 5th overall at the 1988 Kenworthy National in the 125 class, and many top ten finishes in 125 Supercross. He unfortunately had injuries and other set backs that made him hang it up in 1990's. Credit to friend Danny Umbarger on the pic.

Great Buddy Antunez photo! He and Brian Swink were mini beasts in the late 80's. Back then, if you were on the R&D Suzuki team, you were mini moto royalty...and the Budman was one of the best for sure!

Great pic, saddest part of it is though, the RM 85 he’s holding hasn’t changed a bit since this was taken.....

Cropped photo of the start of the 60 9-11 class Golden State Nationals '84. Can't find the original with the entire gate.

Brings back memories of when i had one my dad just came home with it after work one day in late 85. I was destroying my jr50 and my dad caught me riding my older brothers yz80. I had to stand on something to start it, it was an 84 yz80.

I could just touch the pegs standing barely got it into gear and was not good with the clutch. He was afraid i was going to hurt myself on it and got me this used 84 cr60 and I was barely big enough for it.

To bad they never came out with the liquid cooled version of it i guess there was a prototype.

This kx80 ad stands out for me because my older brother used to lie and claim he was on bike #76.

That 1985 KX lineup was on par with Honda’s 1987 CR lineup. That 1985 KX80 was amazing I had to race a 1985 YZ80 against them although I was running 83cc my yam was very quick.
That era of RM80 those things screamed such an awesome sound
