Tom and Jody were really close. They ate lunch together on a regular basis and benched raced a lot. To be a fly on the wall. In fact in his museum, TW80's MXA helmet is still their, dirt and all from the last time he rode. Something to be said about that.

TW80 was also instrumental getting the Outdoor National back to Glen Helen. He was the middle man between GH and MX Sports and made it work. I wish TW80 was still with us since it seems that relationship has gone south... again.

That said, TWMX did a great video with TW80. Cheers, TW80... your surely missed.

Back in the 90's I was a dealer for the products they sold wholesale.. They was great to work with. It was sad to see them shutdown.

They made great equipment. I had a full Ti Carbon on my 2005 CRF450. Yikes times have changed lol.

MAG filing bankruptcy wasn't that long ago.

Just a small personal story here but I got hold of one of their catalogues in the mid 90s, and that little catalogue ended up being one of my coolest memories as a kid and my early forays into the world MX. I know it sounds silly but couldn't even afford a bike at the time, so any MX related media I came across e.g my first copy of MXA, DBR (a UK mag) and that WB catalogue etc, were huge to me at the time. The bike decal section was fairly short but it inspired me enough to waste hrs drawing my own designs. Super cool looking, glamorous glossy photos of tricked-out American MX bikes and the stars in sunny California etc. It may as well have been on the other side of the galaxy with all the chances I had of escaping the rain-soaked UK and ever getting out there... Funny the things you remember.

I had WB Shotguns on my Harley for a time in the 90s. They were know for their 2" drag pipes when everyone else was 1.75". Did nothing for performance but they were loud. As I got older and moved away from loud for the sake of being loud, haven't heard about WB pipes since.
Great story, eh?

They got bought out by Vance and Hines and then not sure https://powersportsbusiness.com/features/2008/01/29/vance-hines-acquire…
But yes Vance and Hines bought them, can't remember if that even lasted a year before they closed up shop on the moto program. Really a bummer. They made a really good product.

I really wish they were around still. Best system I had on my 06 YZ250F. And wish they still had the MINI Carbon Pro for the pitbike around. But I never bought one, I should've.

At the Moto dealer I worked at back then, we sold about 5 Carbon Pro systems the last year. Then Vance & Hines bought them and we sold 1 V&H System... and they closed up shop right after.

I was the last official rider support guy at WB 06-07. l got to drive the "rig" to the big amatuer nationals that year and we had Ben Lamay and Chris Johnson as our "factory" riders and Tony Blood as our #1 in house guy. Tom Morgan handled all the mechanicals with a few good mechanics working in their bikes. It was a really fun year but the MAG group screwed everything up so bad that there was no way this company was ever going to make it. In my opinion MAG always wanted to kill off WB and absorb the products they wanted into their other businesses. One of the worst things the new management did was to stop distributing any one elses parts. It became WB only and sells just dropped. Followed by quality issues on our Carbon Pros and the recession just killed us. The wheel sets were the only thing that saved us. Mostly amazing people there but just a few chowder heads in important positions ruined it.

Up side? I did get one of Wyndhams refurbed Carbon Pros for my CRF 450. Best pipe ever but it was loud. Also, had every little doo dad they made on my bike. Nicest bike l've ever owned.
