Game changer. Suspension sucked until people like Bob Fox came along. First ever prototype Fox Air shocks with a shared single pressure chamber. Worked great but for obvious reasons, not practical for a MX bike.




Then came the single pressure Fox Airs with external dampening adjustment. No bladders and only 200 sets were ever made.



The bike as well as the shocks evolved. Bob wanted this bike replicated for the museum in the suspension plant in Scotts Valley. Fun project.

Kent Howerton's 76 500cc National Championship winning Husky forks. Magnesium lowers, machined and modded with removable lower caps and aluminum internals. Pretty basic stuff from the early stages of long travel suspension. All this trick stuff you guys are showing off had to start somewhere.






Twin pressure Fox Air's with bladders. They even ran them with external springs at a few races. First national championship For Husqvarna, for Howerton and also for Fox Air Shox. Dampening changes were made with Holley carburetor main jets.






Another fun project.

Those are podium finishers for sure in this thread. Did you run them on the Alta? Who built them? For sale often indicates you have found something better?

Man you guys are making it hard on me, that’s the last piece of the puzzle for the 06 KX250. One of these days I’ll find some KYB kit stuff for it and take the plunge!
