Were Stewy and RC ever really friends?

As I recall in their 250/450 class days they never really would say the others name during interviews but rather "that guy" etc...

I think they had respect for each other but James never would give RC any credit, Ricky would say James was faster sometimes. On second thought, who f'ng cares.
Ricky would always say James is faster, but then go out there and beat him. So in my opinion that was just mind games. Ricky loved to play those.

If there was some sort of issue, it wouldn’t surprise me if Ricky said something along the lines of wondering why he hasn’t done anything in the industry and that started some sort of argument. People here defend it all the time, but it is true that nobody that high profile has ever in the history of the sport just vanished. Especially in this day and age of the internet and social media.

I am sure there are many more.
I see Yogi almost every year at ATL, he was training DM18, and pretty sure I heard another rider talking about him training them, but I can't recall who it was.

Wasn't Ezra a high profile rider that didn't have an "announced" retirement and just basically stopped racing sort of like James ? Not saying that's wrong I just don't remember there being any official word at the time.

Didn’t James say in an old interview some years back that when he decided to leave the sport, he was just going to leave completely, or something to that effect. Can anyone confirm that or am I wrong.
Yes he did I believe it was on the Pulp MX show I cant remember that far back and Red Bull accidentally let it slip that James did officially retired in 2018 in one of their videos. So all the fans holding on to the hope JS-whatever (now that he lost his number) will comeback sorry he isn't. Its a real shame to see someone with that much talent have the career he has had and the last ridiculous act (and there has been a lot) was to just disappear without saying goodbye to his fans. Ya ya blah blah I know he doesn't owe anyone anything I have heard it all before but I think he does because without his hardcore dedicated fans he wouldn't have half of what he has! I dont hate James I loved him back in the Amateur days we were actually pretty good friends and then he would never have walked away like he did he loved the sport more than anything but fame changed him! He thought he could do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted and all those records he said he would break still stand. Nothing worse then wasted potential but hey good luck to him his wife and his two kids!

Oh and blocking RC if that is actually true was just about jealousy and probably a little hatred towards himself with how his career ended up! RC has always said great things about James even when James pulled some dirty moves on him. RC is a true class act and the best rider the sport has ever seen James doesnt even belong in the same class as RC when you talk about past Champions and what they did for the sport!

James Stewart’s mic drop to the fans and industry is about as cool as when Luke Skywalker mic dropped the lightsaber.
The blatant disrespect to the fans shits on their legacy.
Isn’t it crazy how Luke and James both distanced their self from everyone and became hermits?
Maybe one day we will get the real Star Wars and the real James back.
I think the real James died when he got that suspension or maybe it was Dungey knocking his ass to the ground so hard he could never race again like Broc Hepler all I know is Red Bull said he retired in 2018 by accident in one of their SR videos so its over for JSNoNumber. He has officially lost everything in the sport now his number was the last thing to go and AP didn't do the traditional thing where a rider asks a past champion if they mind if he takes the number he just took it because of how James just dissapeared. I doubt he will even make it into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame after everything he has pulled in his career some public and some only the inside industry knows about but there was a lot. Its a shame to because he could have retired with respect and kept his legacy going for his kids they would have been SX royalty! But whatever good luck to him and his family!

He retired with my respect, and his legacy stands every time you watch the modern riders hit the track (even this side of the pond). Numbers are just numbers, he changed the game.
He said when he was finished he would be done with the sport, he followed through with his word.

Why would Howerton do that? More likely the other way around, since Hannah is the one who still holds a grudge....with more than one past racer....for almost 40 years! Yeah, yeah, he was a hero, a huge influence to many and he changed the sport.Dry

The Howerton and Hannah thing always makes me laugh. Howerton acts like he barely remembers the race. Hannah acts like it was a flat out war. JS7 retired and walked away. Who cares anymore and he wants to come back around someday great.

I hope Stewie is in a good place mentally and not suffering from depression or anything. Despite the wild successes, there is something tragic about his career.

https://youtu.be/8ySxMh-DmAs funny I was watching stuff on yt and clicked this, notice he says "I don't owe anything to anybody" this was 2007 when he said this. I think pressure finished him and he did not get to leave the sport as the "GOAT". he is an amazing talant that chose to retire. and disconect from all the indrustry demands and bullshit. he made his money and moved on...

I'm not with this he doesn't owe anybody anything.

You are either a good guy or not a good guy. A good guy, out of the respect for his sponsors that paid him big $$ and all his diehard fans would say something eventually, and I think he will. Not a good guy would basically do what he is doing forever. I think he'll come around eventually. I just can't see someone do that forever.

Yes you can. I'm blocked from the MRC/Jetwerx page. Vital MX and Michael are both blocked from MXA.

You can click on the person's page after you're blocked but it comes up blank.

he rode as a privateer on a yamaha after his factory ride for a season. he announced it a few times that he wanted to keep racing but not on sub par bikes. i remember his brother shane saying that he never wanted to stop, but he couldn't get the support so he got into tennis. he also had a comeback in AX if i remember right.

I've been blocked on Instagram too. Not sure what I did to deserve it. I'm still bitter. I used to buy products from the company too.

Blocked by MXA? Do you recall sending them a direct message that perhaps they didn't like? Maybe they didn't like some of the comments you left on some of their pictures?

I'm not blocked by MXA but have an idea why I'm blocked from MRC/Jetwerx. Oh well, NBD.

Stew is still a bit salty that he couldn’t win the game so he’s taken his ball and gone home. He’s currently sulking in his room. He’ll come down when it’s time for dinner.

Or he's just enjoying the retired life after being in the moto spot light for 30 years. Sorry his retirement has let you down.

I'm not sure, oh well. I bought a pretty decent amount of metal flake from them and would tag them occasionally on different projects that I was working on.

There's a guy on my insatgram who is always complaining for the same reason. He got blocked by Fox Raceway and he has no idea why they did it. It's pretty funny.

I’m not let down. It’s entirely consistent with what I’ve seen of him previously. If I was a fan maybe I’d feel let down but I’m not so I simply made an observation and carried on with my wonderful day in the sunshine.
