The track at Lake Geneva is gone, a couple of years ago the track was still there but now it’s just plowed fields. They also burned the barn down a couple of years ago as well. I live about 5 mins from where maplehurst use to be but that’s way before my time.

Sucks those tracks are gone . It was nice having them so close. Back in the early 2000s this guy opened a practice track in Burlington but it was quickly shut down due to zoning issues or something. I only rode there once. Half the track was like beach sand.

I’ve heard a bunch of stories about maplehurst, looked really cool and rough. Kind of wish we had these kind of tracks around still. It gets REALLY boring riding highways all of the time. There are a couple of sand tracks up in central Wisconsin i trained on where it’s all whoops, up and down hills, no jumps, deep sand. Those are the types of tracks you learn the most from. They bring the worst out in you but you can ride anything good if you can ride that.

Wow! Those shots of the old school torque center van and Azzi turning right off the start are way cool!
I'm 30 years old and finally getting back into the "lifestyle" It seems like azzi is the only legit track within an hour of milwaukee these days... azzi, valley motosports and lake Geneva were on the list back in my racing days. (I remember when the plateau and gator pit were Bad ass) now 65s can jump them lol

I remember my first race at Dyracuse. I never rode sand before, that was an eye opener! It was the only time I ever got lapped at a race, I must've fell at least 20 times each moto. Funny thing is now pretty much all I ride are sand or loamy tracks and love the sand now!

It was cool back then, Azzy and Denmark would switch the track direction every other time they had a race. Thought it made it interesting and took a little of the "home field" advantage away doing that. Denmark was my favorite track, here's a couple pictures from there back in the day. Also went back last year and got a picture of the same corner 27 years latter...
Oh yeah notice the one thing different back then, full gates of 125s!!
