Joey Savatgy got some arm pump on the last lap since it was his first race on a 450. Tomac won a million dollars tonight and a fan won a million too, that is a good thing. At least an American won the race this time.

Dude Eli was going to get him anyways. People saying it’s all rigged and throwing a race are ridiculous. It’s a “fun” offseason event. There was absolutely nothing to gain for Joey to ensure Tomac didn’t win. He already did his part and showed he can run with the 450s guys and shut up all the clowns saying Kawi wasted a ride on him. Win for him, win for Tomac, win for Kawi, win for the kid.....RELAX

Race didn't count for nothing. Joey did the right thing letting Tomac by. What would a win give Joey? Nothing, we all know he could have won that if ge wanted to. Now Tomac, Jesse and he will probably himself get a nice chunk of $$. Win-win.

You guys sound like it's a point paying race.

That said, Incredibly shitty by Tomac to not acknowledge what just happened, instead he just did every interview like it was all him. This alongside his childish asterisk comment really made me not like the guy at all anymore.

I was having a good evening until I come on here and start reading.

For the people whining about Joey, consider this.

How many people would have hated on him if he hadn't pulled over? More? Less? I'm guessing it would have been about the same. It was a no-win situation for him...even if he had won. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in the pits who'd argue with what he did.

I think the result would have likely been the same, even if Joey had kept up his pace.

What kind of impression would it have made with the team if he'd won that final main, but cost his new teammate $900,000? Would they have cheered his hard-charging attitude? I find that pretty unlikely.

Eli came from way back. If he'd been third or worse on the track? I'd say it's fair game for Joey to win it. But I'd also guess that there was some discussion about what to do before in various situations before that final main so that there'd be no confusion. Allegedly.

As for being a "corporate shill"? Hey have you got a second?

Pretty obvious that Savatgy was gonna let Tomac pass him. He's new at the team and had the opportunity to give Tomac an additional 900K, Tomac is probably gonna remember that one.

But there still needs to be rules..........Honestly, Tomac and Savagty should have been DQed from final Main Event. Also, the Insurance Company probably has "fixed" stipulations in their contract regarding paying the million.

I was impressed with Savatgys speed. If it was a 20 lap SX main Eli would have passed him and won by 10 seconds, but second to Eli is not a bad debut on the 450. We may see him on a few podiums next year

And BTW, I would have been pissed if he didn’t let him by, for me it was about the spectator winning a cool mil. He is Eli’s teammate, there was no reason to not let him by at a end of the year exhibition. This was a event with a “Joker Lane” for fucks sake

It may be tough to prove it was fixing. While it was plainly apparent that Savatgy let ET by, he's been in this exact situation before with Osbourne and got knocked down and lost a championship as a result. I'd say he could claim he did it just to make sure he stayed in the race and got a good first result as a new 450 class rider for his new team. Only irony there is that his actions cost the teams sponser a two million dollar payout.

I'll be curious to see if the "fan" payout returns next year.

In Eli’s post race interview he was asked about the pass on Joey and he completely dodged what she asked him about. Then when Joey was interviewed he was never asked. Have to think Monster advised the media to back off. During the race Ralph & Fro both we’re talking about it and then we’re hushed quickly it seemed. I don’t see a problem with it. Yes Joey had nothing to gain and Eli did. Would Eli have made the pass anyway? Likely. The racing was great in all classes and I can’t wait for next years event! Braaap!
