$30 parking is the least if my worries after paying $650 for flights from Sweden, $400 rental car from Chicago, $500 hotel in south bend (due to camping selling out) and that's before I've even blown the froth of one beer. I want to party in the camping area Friday and Saturday night, but aren't sure how I can get to or from south bend, will have to taxi/uber to or from the track if I want to drink, can't leave the car if I drink. shouldnt be a problem. But the wait might be a little and the price$ will for sure be expensive. As of this moment right now from south bend airport to the track is $26 for 4 people (lyft) or $46 for 6 people (lyft XL). I would expect that to double for demand and maybe triple after the days festivities. Just used this for a concert and a half hour ride was $120, needless to say we waited a couple hours and got it for $40

all things considered.. split between 4 or 6 people, its not bad!

Thanks for the advise man! Although, I might be traveling from Philadelphia alone. My friend might not be able to go.

This is not being greedy. What it cost to put on this event is more than a regular GP or a National. Nobody is walking away rolling in money.

I don't know ya man but I am staying at an air bnb in south bend and you can hitch a ride with me if you would like. I cannot guarantee you a ride back if you are staying late to party. I do not really drink so I would rather get some rest. So if you need a ride to the track hit me up. I rented a little suv, so I guess it will hold 2-3 people??

That's awesome mate. I will see how things work out on Thursday and Friday, there is 4 of us, so we might be able to work something out between us. I've already accepted that I will be paying for at least one or two taxis to south bend from the track. Maybe I will just not drink Laughing

Shit I forgot, the suv deal fell thru (I am using the turo thing for the first time). I have a small car but shit yall used to small cars in Europe right? lol Shit, yall can sit 4 deep in the back seat. It's only like 20 miles. Whatever you decide, just hit me up. It goes for anyone else that might like a ride if I am available.

First time at red budd, do you need a pass to go into the B lot even if you are not camping?

If anyone is staying in Elkhart, IN, I have room in the truck for 2, possibly 3 people (depending on if the wife actually goes or just stays at the hotel). Might as well fill it up and split the parking.

South Bend is on my way to the track. I plan on leaving early in order to avoid any headaches getting into the track. Email me chris@cnysynthetics.com

If you want to soak up the atmosphere and experience a MXDN, be prepared to pay and have a great time.
If all you want is to watch the racing, stay at home and stream it live.

Yes it is. 60 dollar to park your car in a field for 2 days is more or less stealing. Let's says there will be 5000 on saturday and 8000 cars on sunday. Then they'll make almost 400.000 dollar for just parking cars. If that isn't greedy :-(

Booo fuggin whooo. I hope they make money. Maybe it'll be back then. I'll be there along with 10s of thousands of others and I won't complain a bit about the money. It's going to be a great time.

I will be there to soak up some atmosphere, and hopefully see some racing. Then I will watch the race again once I get home.
I've only been to two mxdn's, Latvia and érnee, spectating was excellent at both tracks.

What I find kinda ironic, people in the US complain about not getting enough MXDN, projects being dropped etc... then when it finally arrives the complaining continues about the cost.
The reality is, pay up and host a few MXDN or somewhere else will. If the venue needs to charge parking fees to make it worth their while, that’s what it takes. If that’s too much to pay, don’t complain when Europe is hosting it more often.

These posts are cracking me up. Everyone wants something for nothing. Ive been buying customers tickets to NFL games this year with parking passes. Lets just say that experiencing a MXON is a bargain! This isnt something you do once a week, year, or even bi-yearly. Pony up the money every few years and support the sport! I hope the family that owns Redbud does well through this and continues to do a kickass job operating the track - love racing it once a year. I hope the powers that be see the value in having these on US soil.

I bought one and another friend bought one so I guess we both paid $35 for 1 day off site parking and shuttle so we can use it once and I will pay the $10 to park at the track on Friday.

Shit can not park there on Sunday!

Your off-site camping (or parking) for MXoN has been secured.
Your camp site is located at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds.
Present your ticket (on your phone, or printed) at the Shawnee Road entrance to the fairgrounds to access your camp site or parking space.
If you search Maps for the fairgrounds by name, you will be directed to the front entrance, which does not have access to the campgrounds!

Use this Google Maps link, or use the following address for your GPS search:

4320 East Shawnee Road
Berrien Springs, Michigan

The Fairgrounds will be open for arrivals during the following hours:

Thursday: 11am - 10pm

Friday: 10am - 10pm

Saturday: 8am - 5pm

Please do not arrive early Thursday as this will cause traffic congestion with another event at the fairgrounds.

Shuttle Busses to the track have been reserved and are included in your camping/parking purchase.
First Student busses will run during the following hours, from the fairgrounds to the track and back. They will not make additional stops.

Friday
12pm - 11:30pm. First pick-up at the fairgrounds at 12pm; last pick-up at the track at 11:30pm.

Saturday & Sunday

6am - 12:30pm. First pick-up at the fairgrounds at 6am; last pick-up at the fairgrounds at 12:30pm.
5pm - 12:30am. First pick-up at the track at 5pm; last pick-up at the track at 12:30am.

A "Berrien Bus" shuttle is on call for anyone needing wheelchair accessibility. Please pick up an info card upon entrance to the fairgrounds.

And if there's rain (which seems likely) those lots may require a lot of work to fix back up and re-seed.
I've paid as much as $40 to park around Busch Stadium in St. Louis Woohoo

Small sample size complaining about this issue, there will be lots and lots of people paying to be there.

sure as hell seems like it. How much is parking at those fairgrounds and how far away is it? Like most places I would imagine most neighbors will open up their yards for parking. I will walk a long damn way to save $70.00
$280 ticket (for 2)
$100 seat (for 2)
$ 70 parking
$ 70 paddock (2)
$520 total just at the track... WOW...BYOL(bring your own lube)

I'm complaining but I cannot wait to go. I might be ready to puke after I get home and see my grand total but it may just be a once in a lifetime event for me..
wow, it's like 2/3 of my salary in Poland haha

In a few cases European countries sports federation kick in to support international races. Maybe that's where the free parking comes from. Nothing from the U.S. Imagine what a measly $500K would contribute to MXoN.
