I down voted you. Not sure what you’re even crying about, but I wanted you to know so it’s not anonymous.

I don't wait in line for anything. I got tired of waiting in line for food during the first Gulf War. Lost 100lbs. No way I'd wait in a line for an autograph.

Hahaha Laughing calm down princess.

I never threw you a down vote - I think up/down votes ( much like grown ass men waiting 4 hours to have another grown ass man write their name on a peice of clothing or paper for them ) is a gigantic waste of time. I don't do either Smile

He's done this sport his whole life. Since like 5 years old. And once he became really good, like 10 years old, it's literally all you do for your life. A lot of top athletes go dark when they retire. It's called burnout. You hate something you once loved. It happens.

Id say james stewart heard the word "n*gger" enough times at the track growing up that he always was wondering if and when he was going to hear it again. Im guessing he was always on guard and wondering if he was going to have trouble. My two cents anyway. Cant blame the guy for being introverted.
His mom heard it many times to! I wonder if Guy or Wedge over done a story on this I do remember reading on here about some incidents that happend at some outdoor races where racial slurs were directed at his mom and James..

Just curious, why does it matter to you that someone would want to stand in line for 4 hours to receive a signature? I get that you have zero interest in doing that, but why shoot down someone else’s fun and happiness? If it makes them happy, then let it be...

I was at Unadilla one year and I asked James Stewart if Bubba was around to get him to autograph a photo I had taken from practice the previous day. James took the photo into the motorhome and came back out with it signed by Bubba. James Stewart is a great guy, always willing to help a fan.

Agreed.

I think this has a lot to do with him largely disappearing from the sport. He has a choice to limit his exposure to those types of people. Unfortunately, it's alive and well. I'm sure he and his family experienced some horrible people saying horrible things to them. That said, I believe most people respected and appreciated what he brought to the sport.

The best you could come up with???? You and imoto34 are imbeciles. If the majority of the fan base in a professional sport you participate in is blatantly racist, and they absolutely are, he deserves to get away from that. You guys have no idea how impactful words can be. James dealt with things far More hurtful to him than someone, say, kneeling during the anthem would hurt you.

This has nothing to do with manning up. This is basic psychology.

Is this a joke? Man the fuck up. People say horrible things regardless if your purple white yellow black or green. Bubba is a real man, he doesn't give a fuck. Just how stupid can you be, or by me saying that does it turn into the reasoning is your black? Real men don't walk around with a chip on the shoulder, regardless of the color of there skin.
Can we add a feature that auto-deletes a post with over a certain number of thumbdowns?

So just to be clear, YOU are saying that the majority of Motocross/Supercross fans are blatantly racist.

I don't think most fans are racist, there are a select vocal few that always makes it seem like it's the majority. Motocross is no exception, there are some dirtbags at the races, but most people are just hard working blue collar people just trying to enjoy life and don't care what color you are.

But really, why can't people just leave the guy alone? He obviously doesn't want to live in the spotlight anymore, he owes us nothing, he gave us all he had. So why can't we just let him live his life on his terms.

And you're basing this on what? That the majority of SX/MX fans are white?

It's ironic. I would say James as a person was very shy and reserved. Put him in front of the camera or thousands of people and he would pull out the personality.

RV on the other hand came across as very serious and robotic in interviews but in person was a clown. I would say RV was the coolest rider that we never truly got to know.

Stew's the man. No doubt about it. What the hell would I do with his autograph? A picture, however, is worth a 10-12 minute wait if the line is not all crowded and shit. This being said....I think Stew is a god in MX.

With all the SX and MX races I have been to that Stewart was racing in I have never heard one person say anything racist about Stewart. Now yes we have seen a few isolated incidents at some races so we know its there but I would assume that you and or your circle of friends must be the ones involved with these racist incidents because if you feel the majority of SX/MX fans are racist you must be getting that opinion from the crowd you are hanging around with, but I am sure YOU are not racist right ? Loved James ripping but RV blows my mind.

I thought he pulled kind of a dick move by an autograph line of fans in TO, but I don’t think
the winning formula is all fun and games either. Hence, some burnout for the big boys, especially with stuffed bank accounts.

Now, RV is “The People’s Champ”.
