Did he beat Herlings on a 450? People keep bringing it up like its relevant so it must have been on a 450. Hasn't history shown just because you win 250 titles it doesn't mean its gonna translate to the big bike?

I remember not that long ago when Tomac struggled in his rookie year on the 450. People were saying he just wasn't cut out to be a 450 rider. Some people even said he'd be a 5th place guy at best for his career. Webb is going to find his confidence. "The French [won't] want none"

I hope that Webb does well. With the talent he has, if he listens and works, he can do something. If he brings a mouthy attitude and a bunch of baggage,,, DeCoster will keep speaking French. Flemish? Not redneck, anyway.

I too think he would be well suited to a full blown factory ktm350 ...he's small and light and that's what the 359 needs to produce the HP to weight ratio that can. Compete with the 450's. I read/hear a lot of talk about the 350 being uncompetitive against the 450's and I think that Had almost everything to do with rider confidence in their bike As a 350 against 450's. I'm pretty sure those writers felt defeated before the even left the gate therefore did not ride the bike aggressively enough whereas Cooper could and would be able to write it very aggressively if I'm not mistaken his to 50 lap times are almost identical to what the for fifties were producing when he was on top so how would A350 not be competitive with someone like him and his writing style on it?
One thing that baffles me is I keep hearing that Aldon Baker is not as much a trainer as he is a riding technique and coach that baffles me because he has 0 history with actually riding and technique and fundamentals yet hes become the foremost authority on being a great writer now question I don't know where he could have gotten his expertise but it is interesting

I think the 350 might be a real option for Webb.

He was on the podium practically every MX race he was healthy at and he won Spring Creek his first season on a 450. Not really any comparison with Webb.

And it's not Webb's rookie season anymore. He's finished his second season, by which Tomac was clearly dominant outdoors, winning motos by over a minute before his injury.

people need to drop the 350 idea, as soon as you hit any thick mud 450 is a better choice

It was a thick mudder yesterday, and a stock 350 beat a whole lot of factory 450s (including Webb's in moto 1).

If Webb really isn’t suited to a bigger bike than you can’t do any worse the the Yzf450. Time will tell but hope he has a better season in 2019

They've either got themselves a cheap deal of a rider to develop there, or an expensive dud. I hope it's the former.
Webb is far from "cheap"

After listening to the PulpMX Ironman review and hearing about the bad blood between Marvin and Cooper things are going to be interesting at the KTM truck all of next season.

Fuck the way Coop raced him, I'm sure the Yamaha brass were wondering where that effort has been the last two years.

Was thinking the same but also wondering what Cooper's new boss at KTM was thinking as he held up marvin who was technicly "racing for the title" even though MM wasn't going to get to the front anyway, but still nice way to impress your new employer.

Webb isn’t anywhere near as fast as Marv so I don’t imagine it’ll be much of an issue in the future, but yes it’ll be interesting to watch him ride his bike that wide as he holds up all the front runners next year.

You might not be wrong. There are what, 4 champion contenders then just in the 450 class of bakers riders? Throw in Tomac, Roczen, Ju. Hill...

Who are your 4 championship contenders?
Tomac, musquin, anderson... roczen?

Why is everyone losing their minds over this signing? This is a demotion from a pecking order standpoint. He’s been the #1 rider on every team he’s been on and he just took a job as a #2. He’s basically replacing Broc Tickle. He’s on the Josh Grant, Justin Bogle, Cole Seely level.

I for one hope he does turn it around, we’ve seen the change in Barcias attitude and outlook and look what it’s done for him. Like him or not it would be nice to have another personality running at the front and championships aren’t just given out in either class so I’m pretty sure it’s still in there somewhere. Not sure on the team dynamic with Musquin though but only time will tell on that front.

Why do you guys hate so much? ? i mean, some of you are saying he doesn't have that drive or heart anymore and when he shows he still does and battle with marvin, you aren't happy either. They are supposed to be teammates next year, but now they are on different teams. I don't think that just because marvin is battling for championship cooper should just roll over. It's called racing. IMO webb has been pretty solid for these few outdoors he's been racing after long recovery. He's not the one who is scared to battle and that's how it should be.

Everyone conveniently forgets about his injuries the last two seasons. He has already proven that he has a higher ceiling than any of those guys. Let him get through SX without injury and I'm willing to bet that he becomes a serious player in the 450 ranks.

People that said he was only going to be a top 5 ride after his rookie must of missed his 9 podiums and 1 win his rookie season then.
