Well as you know , I disagree...cant think of any good reason to pick Chad, hasn't raced mx in 3 years, his last year in mx wasn't good, he had his worst season ever in sx and has no support from any team ( at time of team selection)
So he loses a few pounds at Jenny Craig or whatever and does a couple motos at the jgr facility and all of a sudden we are talking about his current speed? What speed? The speed he says he has or the speed his mate says he has? And we are all supposed to go " wow! Reed"s really back! ..bench Gibbs...hell never do as good as Reed...that fifth in his class at mxon last year means nothing...last time Reed raced mxon he got....errm , no we'll just talk about this speed he has now at the jgr facility?

It's interesting that you dont believe he'd have been chosen if he was racing mx in the US and challenging for wins...I for one dont believe that...If he was doing that and he got left out, there would be genuine uproar!
You reckon someone has it in for him..fair enough...spill the beans..who do you reckon it is and why?

I just think the reason is cut and dry...hasnt raced in 3 years, doesn't have a ride and hasn't even been doing any good in his speciality, supercross
Do you honestly believe that MA are really wanting to try and win/podium by choosing the best possible team they could?

hahaha Well you certainly seem to know what you're talking about.. Ya might've missed High Point last year where Ferris went over in an off week got 3rd fastest lap time in qualifying and beat everyone but Baggett in the first moto..

Well Reed wouldn't back himself over Ferris. He said so

From all reports? you mean from that one guy? or is there other reports

Yes and he went down in the first turn of the second moto then again a corner or so later and seeing as how he was leading the AUS championship at the time and under orders to not do anything stupid like getting hurt...he just basically trail rode the second moto...he was tired though...tired and jet lagged from the 15 hour flight to the USA he made a couple days before the race
We all appreciate your opinion man but you need to drop it. You have said the same thing 15 different ways in 2 seperate threads. Just chill and see what the weekend brings ?

Well, I'd still like to know if Reed actually applied? You had to apply and nominate which class you wanted to race and agree to contribute to the costs...
I sure would like to know jyyst how many racers applied, or if this application process even meant anything?
MA arent capable if doing anything much right...allowing a sx round the same weekend as the mxon...that ruled out Ferris for a start...dumb!
So who actually chose the team from those that applied? Do you know?

Who wouldn't want to watch this bad ass suit up in the Yellow and Green just one more time!!

Funny thing is if he gets a ride next season he will still be the only full-time Aussie over here in the big leagues 16 years later at 36 years of age. Bad ass!

I look at it like this.

I support a footy team. Its had the same captain for 10 seasons. He's towards the end of his career and has a rough couple of seasons but is keen as mustard to run out for one more grand final. You wanna see your captain go out with one last gutsy effort win or lose.

Chad Reed has been the captain of the aussie MXDN Team since what 2002?

Lest be honest. The team as picked will be maybe top 5? So what if Evans was held back till nest year to watch our old captain give it one more gutsy effort. And I truely believe he would have given it.

Im not looking for an argument. Thats all I have to say about it. Good luck to the boys!!
Yep I was all in for that to happen cause it seemed like we couldn't send our absolute best team anyway, so yeah give Reedy the des nations send off..
But then he wasn't picked and he stuck the bottom lip out..
Like I said, I hope he is hauling and I hope he is fit and then gets the call up!

I'm laughing at our exchanges! Just a couple of Aussies sticking up for people we feel a sense of loyalty towards neither takin a backward step haha

I think it is total crap you apply to be on your national team. As we all know you get selected for your national team...you don't ask to be on your national team! A farce in itself!! It is my opinion that MA has handled the whole process of this year's MXDN beyond ridiculously!!!
No I don't know who chose the team. I think they would be too scared to go pubic with that kind of information.

I don't think at this point anything is gonna change regardless of this weekends results.

Only thing I can hope for now is a competitive season next year and a chance maybe then to get the nod next year. haha he'd be what 38?? lol

Let’s just say, for arguments sake Reed goes 10-10 this weekend.. does that indicate he had enough speed to be picked?

For me its not really about the over all finishes as im not sure he's where he needs to be just yet fitness wise but if he gets up front off the start and can hang around in the top 5 to 10 for 20 mins then yeah that would be a good sign.

19 - DNS

I don't agree with your 19th in 1st moto, but I have to ask why do you think a DNS in 2nd moto?
Chad has said that his fitness is not 'race ready'. Most people seem to believe that he will push hard during the first moto (especially if he gets a good start), and just won't have any gas left in the tank for a 2nd moto. I disagree with the 19th in the first moto though as long as he keeps it off the ground. I think he could crack the top 10.

We all know his fitness isn't "race ready". But come on, even if Chad's body fuel gauge is showing empty after the 1st moto he will still line up for the 2nd moto....he won't quit!

Just announced... Team Tasmania 2018 MXON team:

Chad Reed, Jeff Leisk, and Inebriated the Koala. Not sure if cartoon characters are going to be permitted, but he's basically the animal version of Ronnie Mac.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqobhSoQSXM

In the event Mr. Koala does not receive approval, I understand they have Greg "The Shark" Norman ready to go!

Haha. Spot on... Must admit i give Reed kudos for having the balls to line up this weekend with all the heat on him. He could look like a fool or a legend. If he even ran somewhere in the in the 8 - 10 position that would be pretty impressive..

To me 22 will always look best on an '04 YZ 250. That said he was on point on the Suzuki. He also looked good on the TwoTwo Motorsports Honda until the famous Chadapult. Really hoping he can put in a solid ride tomorrow.

Still have to cheer on our fellow Canadian T. Medaglia.

T Dags is gonna pull a sick start in at least one moto tomorrow. He's an animal.

After hearing what he said in the One Lap video I think he's out there for all the right reasons. No expectations, but life is short so you might as well grip it and rip it one more time!
