6-6 He is bringing a mechanic and proper parts this time.. wont be like Canada. Jake is a solid rider, good starts he will be up there, If Kenny is still a bit off, he could even be top Honda.

its gonna be 81. and the humidity shouldn't be very bad.. its been really dry. so i dont think heats gonna play a factor at all.
I actually checked the weather in Benton Harbor and your right. I grew up out there and have been to Red Bud many times, its usually an oven that weekend.....

As he seems to have ‘relaxed’, is having fun and injury free I think inside top 10 both motos, maybe 7th

Listening to the Fly Moto:60 show that Nichols was on he is apparently going to be using the same setup he used in Canada as GDR is letting him use Facciotti's practice bike again. Shame that's he's stuck with the improper parts lol

I thought it was pretty obvious Phil didn't mean GDR use bad parts and that he clearly meant parts off Jake's bike that he's used to and uses in the UK? Can you really be that thick?!

I think we have to appreciate that a) it’s quite the intimidating thing to come over to race in the US (whoever you are), b) it’s red bud! And c) whether it’s hot for red bud or not, a British native is going to find it stinking hot. I wish him luck, I hope whatever his results he enjoys his day. He is doing it because it’s one of his bucket list items and I respect that.

I’ll be cheering for him

Awesome, looking forward to see how he does. Surely a top 10 is possible?
Looking at the field in 450s, he should be around 8th-12th.
5 - 10 easily.

Number 454.

Oh, and the weather has changed substantially since yesterday. Much cooler and less humid by a wide margin.

If he squeaks into the top 10 that's a pretty damn good ride. There were 8 fast guys then a big drop off usually in the first races and now Webb and Bogle will have a another week of prep under them. There are now finally 10 factory bikes racing so if he beats any of them it's a win.

Dang and here I was thinking GDR Honda uses quad parts on motocross bikes.

I don't think people are underestimating him, his MX2/250 class years are long forgotten. In the MX1/MXGP/450 career, he finished inside the top ten - 4 times out of 64 motos.

Great ride here in any case at Red Bud, he fought to the end to finish 9th. Looking at live timing it appeared he was gonna make a move on Peick a few times but Weston could pull something out of the bag in sector three a few times to open is back up.

Yeah, that was a decent run, got onto the back of Peick a few times, maybe not pulling the pin on Larocco's leap? Came through from a mid pack start too. With a gate he could be in there .

Anyone have a pic of his bike? I always wondered what my number would look like at a national...(454)

I was there, he looked pretty solid. He didn’t seem to have any issues with any sections and rode a tough track well. I bet he enjoyed the experience. A solid top ten and experience at red bud does make you wonder if he could be a consideration for the mxdn. Perhaps a stand in if the first choice GP riders don’t get to it healthy?

Definitely worth considering as a stand in rider, but both Searle and Anstie have rode there and both seem to be getting better as the season goes on and we have some very solid mx2 riders Watson, Sterry and Mewse.
I feel a podium again this year

At the moment for me Nicholls and Watson should be definite picks then the last one out of Searle and anstie

Not bad for a part-timer who works through the week.
