I just don't think it's luck. I guess at SD you could say he got a bit unlucky but other than that he's made mistakes that have either put him on the ground or put him in bad situations. I believe his mistake at A1 set the tone for the season.

He has been "unlucky" once this season. Last weekend when he got tangled up in the first turn. He didn't finish the race because a grip got torn off the handlebar(at least that is what they say, i haven't seen any pictures of it).

Like you say, he has made his bed this season. Tomacs horrendous season is not down to him being unlucky.

I've been big fan of both guys for a long time. But I am getting to be less and less a fan (believer) where Eli is concerned. Pointing at the "scoreboard" in qualifying just because Justin is messing with him is weak sauce in my opinion. Eli seems to show us again and again that he doesn't have a championship mental game imho. Bam Bam accomplished exactly what he set out to do by getting that reaction from Tomac.

edit: I love all the tough guy comments about "kicking Justins ass" or "ripping his head off" in these posts. For the most part these are all the same commenters who will defend their guy when their guy parks or screws with someone. I think most of these guys are afraid of messing with Justin on the track and that is where it matters. This is SX not MMA.

If he looks at the points I'm sure he would know who he was. One is second, the other doesn't show up in the top 10 (13th).

Most of the time when a rider leaves a door open and knows a rider is behind him, they check up. Seemed like Tomac just didn't want to back it down and live for the next corner and Barcia made the pass. Barcia didn't run him clear to the berm. Tomac was out of position.
