All I need to know is if you absolutely have to use both toggles and can play it just using X for gas and square for brake my hands aren't good enough to play it any other way..
The only way I can play MXGP3 is on semi pro but at least I can play it

MX vs ATV All Out will allow you to play with both joysticks or a single joystick like the older games so I'm sure you'll be able to map out X for gas and square for brakes. Most games allow you to customise the buttons to your preferences.

Watching the bike through the corner after the Finish Line, looks pretty sick! Kinda slides in a bit and seems to mimic the rider and bike reaction to that pretty well.. That sound also seems a bit improved as well, hopefully they continue to tweek it in the same direction.

I am glad it's right much slower than Encore. That helps a lot. It looks pretty good. My main issue with nearly all the MVA games is they are basically one off exhibition races. I prefer a season mode where you have to qualify, run heats, lcqs, mains or qualifying and 2 motos throughout a full season. Again, we've really only seen this in EA Supercross 2000, MXGP and now MES.

Rainbow has barely offered anything like that. There was a points mode in Encore but you could never get any good guys in one series to race against and it was done extremely poorly and not even offered with official tracks. Totally weird omission. But hey I have MES for SX doing it how I like it.

If Nordic could get with DC....who has said he's interested in a MXGP type game for his series....then that would be cool but honestly they've never made it happen so I doubt it ever will.

It does look much better than Encore. Again, a little too Unleashed looking to me but that's just me. I'm glad we will have 3 MX/SX Game series. That is great. MVA has never been my favorite games due more to their design choices more so than anything else but glad they are back. It may not be my game of choice but that's ok. I'll support by getting it and crossing fingers that they do some outdoor replicas.

As a footnote....why do I harp so much on replicas? My reason being is that when they do replicas, I prefer it because when they don't they take too many liberties like unrealistic layouts, environments, etc. Hopefully that has changed if only doing their own designs.

The Alive JS7 stuff is STILL the benchmark to me for console SX/MX gaming up to today, at least. Man, that was some good, fun and challenging stuff..

If you go back to MvA unleashed, the "series" was very much realistic. With Heats and mains. IMO, its the closes to capturing the sport's layout that we've had.

I think i read that the sounds are under construction so i won't think into it too much, but people commenting saying this sounds good...seriously? It sounds like a lawnmower. When he backs off the engine takes so long for the revs to drop!

Yep, I'll give you that. I just couldn't deal with the mile wide tracks and preload. But you are right. It was the closest to having the real race formats implemented that Rainbow has ever down.

That sx video gave me a little hope with the slower speeds that maybe this version won't be such a hyper speed coin-op arcade game like the last. Scale is still tooooo wide fitting 4-wide atvs in the lanes - Reflex sx track Stone Point Rnd 2 was brilliant in scale. Making little kids and atv's easy to play supercross racing has gone too far imo.

Oh yeah - bring back a remake of the Unleashed LA Coliseum track, that would be great!

I don't care about customizing them. I just need a torque option. R3?

Yeah you can play with one joystick but the thing turns like a barge haha (just going off trying to play the first couple of games that had the two toggle set up) and it's so frustrating..
I only ask cause I was gonna just download it when it comes out but I might just buy a hard copy so I can take it back if need be (that's interesting John tell us more haha)

As someone who plays mx vs atv almost daily, I will certainly be buying the new one, but it still seems weird to me how small they scale their riders in the games following reflex. If you look at Milestone's game, the scaling is almost spot on. Am I the only one?

I was thinking the same thing.. If you look when the rider is going through the whoops in that video, the tough blocks are bigger than the bike.. Not really something I "care" about, but something I noticed

I believe there's suppose to be a Q&A with them soon so maybe ask the question whenever that takes place and if we're lucky enough they'll answer it. I noticed that too and it is a little odd.

For now I'll just say that it might be the camera view they chose for the video. Some games do have more than one 3rd person view (close, mid, far, etc.) so that might just be something that's playing a trick on our eyes.

I mean, let's face it. The game does look better and the speed looks real good now which is a huge improvement over the hyper fast Encore. But Nordic has only got scale right once. Alive. That's it. It's not a trick of the eyes. Yes, if you put it on a closer camera you don't notice it as much but it's because you are seeing more rider.

In an interview with Rainbow on the Nordic forums (before it closed down), one of the developers said that focus groups determined the track width. And that yes, the primary reason to make it much wider than 1 to 1 was to accommodate the ATVs. That is just ridiculous and always has been. Just put fewer ATVs on the gate! Don't change the integrity of the track.

It's always been one of my biggest beefs with this franchise. Supercross is supposed to be tight and technical at times not wfo on mile wide tracks. Again, the game speed in All Out looks like a major improvement but the track scale...width and object sizes...continue to be way off.

I think going into a project that proper speed and scale SHOULD be priority one. Imagine playing NBA2k and the players run twice as fast and the courts dimensions are way too wide. Man, you lose me already at that point. Worry about that stuff before worrying about whips.

But hey, that's just me. It's always bugged me. I actually like the MVA physics a lot as long as they aren't so exaggerated. But the speeds and scale have almost always been whacked. Thankfully, at least the speed is much better this go round.

But zoom it in and use the nice slot style camera (which I honestly do love) and you don't notice it as much, at least.

I'm sure this was already posted...but I'm leaning towards Rainbow for the win in physics department and a new level of customization. Really excited for these guys.

Hehe, Praire valley is a great rack. Did countless of races online on that map and the 2 last cornes of the lap always had some drama involved. Didn't matter how much you guarded the inside people would just rear end you and hope for the best lol

Prairie Valley was a fun track. Scrub the jump before the big roller section and skim them like Bubba at Millville!
