Kenny is a national treasure and an inspiration to us all. Like Katlyn Jenner.

I think with the shorter races the competition was even more intense then usual. Guys that normally suffer in the latter stages could just go 100% the whole moto.

With Kenny trying to ride without taking big risks it must have been very tough coming through the pack from 2 bad starts.

The track also looked tougher to pass then a typical circuit.

Just a tough night at the office no reason to over think it. A lot of racing to go yet & the longer race formats will suit his approach better.

Roczen fan's asking too much, too earlier. Ken is not a robot, I do not see anything wrong, let's the process run its course.

Yep, its this. It seems he is experiencing what Tomac did during round 1 and 2 last year to some extent. He is probably getting arm pump and having some confidence issues after coming back from such a big injury and time off. Adrenaline and the hype probably carried him for the first A1 and Houston. Of course being the one year anniversary of his crash didn't help. Once he realizes he is the same guy that dominated the outdoors and can pass anyone in a flash, he will be back.

This, the new format suits better the more fearless, less technical riders.

Obviously he wasn't feeling it all race day. Happens to everyone!
He did the smart thing, and did not push it and crash out.

Guy is a massive talent, and it's a long season, he will be fine.

I hated that look on Kenny's face when he went to go line up for the 2nd moto. I dont think he likes the triple crown format but its giving him a chance to adjust by having more actual races and gate drops I think. Theres alot of races left.

Might be the fact that he had ten surgeries on his arm last year. Or maybe the cadaver ligaments take some getting used to. Damn you idiots have obviously never had a bad moto injury. Takes time.
Why do you always find the need to get defensive and start calling names?? I swear to god you must be 13.

I more then realize he went through a huge year with his arm, but buddy just about won last week, did really well the week prior to that, but then goes out for two races and gets 11th and 12th.

And we are not allowed to speculate on this?? Dry
Oh right - we're idiots.

I would not draw to many conclusions about Kens performance from this. Track was small/tight and demanded a lot of aggression. Lap times was also so tight so impossible to make up time.

12 rider within 1 sec, like 8-9 riders within 0.5sec.

One conclusion though: 34 Peick is a great starter!

obviously last time he was at A2 was in his head............why the whole wearing the same gear as last year came from...........he got it under control by round 3.................I think the adrenaline rush wore off a bit after the first two rounds and the reality of last year caught up.............he's staying off the ground and not riding over his head it seems

Probably a minor setback/ bad week. You dont come back from almost having your arm fall off to perfect. Still amazing he has lined up since A1.

Last night's track suited the less technical riders?

Bwahahahaha

Classic. The interwebs is full of them there geniuses.

Last night's track was MEGA-TECHNICAL! Hell, there was an On-Off option TURN! There were combos all over the track that were EXTREMELY TECHNICAL.

Any-hoo...there's NOTHING wrong with KR. He simple had bad starts on the ABSOLUTLEY wrong night to get bad starts. Period.

He wore the kit from last year to show he isn’t superstitious, he is asked constantly about his arm, every 20 seconds someone is playing a video of the crash and his road to recovery. It’s consumed his life. No doubt it’s on his mind, he got through what must have been a challenging weekend.

I imagine next week he will be on his game again.

You might want to go back and watch the last main...Cooper ran up inside of him in the 2nd turn, Jason and Eli were up front and running a very good pace IMMEDIATELY...so, what good start are you taking about?
He ran 5th for a bit & dealt with Weston too long...all the while...
Jason and Eli were running their own race and pulling away.
Kenny didn’t have a single good start last night.

I was at the race last night and the seats were lower so we couldn't necessarily see the whole track and he was buried most of the night. It was pretty cold last night and I wondered to my friends if the cold was bothering his arm. Just didn't seem agressive.

I guess everyone fast forwarded through the segment where the riders talk about how injuries can affect their riding.

Maybe just maybe he wanted to just get thru the mayhem of this race! I thought he just looked really conservative! Didn't look to be in any pain or uncomfortable,he just looked to be trying to get through this round! These guys are dropping like rain..He's sitting 3rd in points right??

Nothing against Ken, but that poll on how many race wins he would have this year and I said zero!!

I’m old school and remember when Rick Johnson broke his wrist in a similar fashion. He was never the same again and Ultimately had to retire. Ken will never race again like he did at the beginning of last season. Won’t happen.

Curious how AMA/FIM will track stats for these triple crown races?
https://results.amasupercross.com/xml/SX/events/S1815/S1F1PRESS.pdf

If you holeshot all 3 motos, does that count toward your holeshot totals for the year?

Through A2 last year:
